Stitching glare

I test drove a 2014 GC Overland on a bright sunny day and noticed that there was glare from the white dashboard stitching in the front window. It was rather annoying. The dealer said I was the first person to ever mention it. Has anyone else noticed this?

Re: Stitching glare

I have it, I literally do not notice it unless I look for it.

When you are focused on the road ahead, it is out of focus and (for me at least) isn't even there.

Yup. Just like a heads up display. Your eyes focus where the need to. It took a couple of days after I got my Jeep to forget the reflection was there.

Now, thanks to this post, I'll probably see it for a couple of days.

Re: Stitching glare

I always wear polarized sun glasses when it is real bright, makes it and other glare disappear.

But like Bill I also see through it once used to it.

I haven't noticed it in months, but probably will tomorrow!

Is it the black dash, or the jeep brown one?

I can see the stitching by looking directly at it, but it doesn't show up in the windshield in any superbright sun condition I've been in.

If it did, I'd probably get some Fiebings brown and a very fine point brush and make it an intermediate shade of brown. Or just match the leather. [Well, actually I'd have the missus do it]

Re: Stitching glare

I went from a '14 limited to a '14 Overland and YES I have noticed it too. The stiching makes the dash distinctly different and more upscale so though it is annoying on sunny days I'd rather keep it and like the other posters said wear my sunglasses, but after a while I don't notice it all.
