Talk me down....

So I'm taking delivery of a new Rubicon soon and want to replace the hood with either an AEV Heat Reduction or the Mopar Hard Rock hood.

I've had bad experiences with collision repair in the past, and I'm very concerned about putting a non-factory painted part on my brand new baby!

People do this all the time right? Looks just as good as factory right? Just as durable right?

It's white, which in my total ignorance I assume is one of the easier colors to match?

I definitely don't want to "blend" into the fenders. Can't they just take the bright white paint code and get really close to the original color?

What should I be asking the body shops I call for? Is there a specific method this should be painted using. I don't mind paying more for a high quality job but I don't know what to ask for. The hood takes a beating from bugs for sure...

Re: Talk me down....

Congrats on the Rubicon. Any good body shop or paint shop should ask for the VIN# to get as close (if not exact) paint color for your vehicle. Maybe you could ask him to paint a sample of something and see if matches your vehicle so you know.
