Re: The ALL JEEP wheels and tires thread

Hey, I was thinking about getting some 22's on my newer Limited and was wondering how the 275/40/22's were riding? How smooth and also any rubbing issues? B/c I was thinking of just getting the OEM 20's for now and these later, given the 20 prob would ride smoother and also give me better traction in weather condions but was really interested in getting the 22's for now and the 20's later depending on how the 275/40/22's ride. Thanks and let me know when ya get a chance!

Re: The ALL JEEP wheels and tires thread

Hi all, I've just joined this thread and please excuse my ignorance if my question has already been answered. I thought I would test the combined knowledge of all you Jeepers. I'm a Jeep virgin - well, hope to be.. and I'm from Sydney Australia.

In the attached link Jeep shows off Moab Easter Safari concepts crawling the red rocks there's a picture of a JGC Summit with modifications.

The JGC pictured here Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk II Concept Photo Gallery - Autoblog has as quoted in the linked article: the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Concept..., complete with the company's EcoDiesel V6 engine. Designers threw in a set of 35-inch Mickey Thompson tires wrapped around 17-inch Rubicon wheels, and a set of custom fender flares help keep all that rubber under wraps.

How difficult would it be to do the same with my MY14 (whenever it arrives in Oz)? I know where to get the tyres of course, but what modifications would I need to do to have the 35" tyres? Would the Off-road Pack II and the Quadra Lift suffice or am I looking at major mods - which I would rather not do. Are the custom fender flares, as depicted, difficult to source? Any info out there?

If I need to do major mods to suit the above tyre/wheel combo, what size tyres would therefore be suitable with my coming order without mods? 33" tyres O.K?

Re: The ALL JEEP wheels and tires thread

You'd need to do some serious modification to make a 2014 Trailhawk. From what I recall, they cut the fenders to make those 35" tires fit. They obviously modified the suspension system, too. So in short.....it's doable...but not without some pretty major modification.

You should be able to fit 33" tires without much trouble from what I understand. Maybe a 2" lift if anything.

Thanks Sh0rtBus (the names we give ourselves..and I can't talk too)

I am ordering my MY14 with Quadra Lift. I don't think I can give it a 2" spring lift. Can I - anyone in the know??
