Re: The Jeep taillight thread

I may be one of the only ones without daniels work or vht...had the local tint shop put 3m on them with clear reverse. So far had em for 7 months with no issues! I beleve it's 20%...same as my windows. 13 led bulbs for reverse...work really well but I want to upgradeto hids

I want to do the same to my amber front HL turn signals. Shoud I get painted stillens, vht them or get the tint shop to hit em up the same as tails? Nick didn't u vht your front amber signals?

They're good pictures, its the first real life ones I see of the the LED bulb. How do you like it, is it just cosmetic or is there a real output difference ?

Re: The Jeep taillight thread

I'm not sure if you're talking about the reverse lights or the brake lights but as for the brake lights, they're great, super visable even during the day and the turn signal LED's are amber in color which I like.
For the reverse/back up lights, I think they're more cosmetic because the light output isn't too good (I'm talking about the light shot onto the ground), or maybe it's because I have 5% tint all around lol, but if you are looking at them head on at night they're blindingly bright!! and that's what matters to me the most, that it gets your attention

I did. I only did it on the plastic headlight covers cause I still haven't decided what all I want to do when I grow a pair big enough to break the seals on the lights. When I do open them up I'll use lacquer thinner again to get the VHT off the plastic and respray it directly on the amber plate. I also replaced the amber turn bulbs with chrome ones (lost the web address but the part # is 3157) to clean everything up.

Re: The Jeep taillight thread

I was thinking about doing something like that but I might as well just get the LED tails that have LED's in them ya know. I was thinking about somewhere above the rear glass that goes all the way across that's flush with the glass but IDK.....
