Hey guys as I was hunting down some chemicals for my headlight as well as Neffy/Dinoc projects I got to thinking it would sure be helpful if there was just one thread sticky'ed at the top of the forum that listed peoples recommendations.

It would have a product chemical and its use and for what projects its good for maybe like Neffy/painting plastics or metal etc so people would be able to easily reference it for their needs.

I know there is a section for product reviews and all etc but this would make it a little more specific being as the market of stuff is huge and I know Ive spent hundreds of dollars in the Jeeps lifetime on trying stuff and seeing what works and what doesnt.

Im sure we could save people some money and really help them out so if enough people like it, maybe Rob or an admin can get a thread going. I have a list of stuff to start to even start it.

Adhesive Strippers (for removing adhesives, sticky stuff!)

Goo Gone - orange spray in a bottle, removes gooey items such as gum, wax, grease, left over tape residue etc. - $4 most auto stores

3M Adhesive Remover - red can with long part # and bunch of warnings- this is the grand daddy of adhesive and goo removers. I sprayed this on some super glue stuff from the side trim on my door and it melted bits and piece of it away. Its SAFE on paint too! For the price, it cant be beat in my mind - $12-$15 at Napa I believe it was.

Best Painting Chemicals (for all the DIY prep/paint work)

Sandpaper
grits and their uses
different types etc

Adhesion Promoters -

Primers
- sandable
- for plastic
- self etching
- high build etc

Base Coats -
Top Coats -

Clears
- high temp
- urethane etc

All this could be listed and reviewed by members until a nice little list was created of the most effective stuff and its best uses. I know Id find it handy in my projects right now as Im trying al kinds of cap and spending a ton more $ than probably needed but Im willing to test and see for future projects :)
