Tint Pictures Anyone?

Having some custom work done on my Grand Cherokee. Any WK2 owners out there have some pics of their ride with the windows tinted and know what % tint they used? Have to make a decision today how dark I want to go. Thinking 35%, just wanted to see what other guys had done. Thanks.

Re: Tint Pictures Anyone?

Wow, that looks nice! You can tint the windshield where you live? In WI you can't modify the windshield at all and legal limit on the fronts is 50%. Pretty lame.

Re: Tint Pictures Anyone?

Just because I did it, doesn't mean you are legally allowed to. :-)

The wife gets migraines so its just as much for her as it is for looks. Paying the occasional ticket is a lot less than sending her to the emergency room with a migraine every few days....

With that said though, in person the 50% on the windshield is not all that noticeable. (It does stand out a lot more on the WHITE Jeep than it did on previous vehicles though).

I think that might be the case here also. They say anywhere down to the manufacturers markings. But I hear the oem dot matrix things they have behind the rear view are really tough to get the tint film to stick to.

Still on 1 1/2 years so far,you can see the dots from the outside but inside is fine.i also tinted front doors the same as other side glass 120.00 for all.

Thanks for the advice. We actually have checked into it. They denied our first request, said we didn't provide enough info (documentation showing & stating a lifetime of migraines back over 25 years wasn't enough?). We have to appeal the decision and provide more info but haven't had the time.

It sticks fine but it does make for a lighter (almost silver) area where the tint is only sticking to the dots and not the actual window. On our 2012 model we took it first to a vinyl shop and had the apply black vinyl to it on the inside. Vinyl stretches enough it covered it up perfectly and just looked blacked out. The dot matrix area on our 2015 is smaller so not noticeable.
