To Paint or not to paint! that is the question

Ok, I am in the slow process of of changing my jeeps look. keeping the lift, but losing the winch bumper, roof rack, gobi ladder and aries tail ight guards. the only armour I am keeping is my 4xguard skids but they are being color matched.

I will be installing a 08-10 front bumper with oem hids, all ready open and should be getting painted next week. I also will be installing a WH bumper that I got from Ijeep if it can be fixed (long story).

So I now have my interior done, photos will be in my build page when done. Switched to the overland trim and steering wheel, plus more!

Now, if someone can post a poll for me. I am wondering weather I should paint my chrome trim and step pad, wiper cowls YELLOW. I would also repaint my calipers from Red to yellow and the badges.

I have an extra step pad so I painted it yellow after work today. If I choose to do this I am going to have this stuff professionally painted, except the calipers (I will do them myself)

here are some pix of the step pad

Should I paint the back-up strip???

Lastly, if someone can photoshop the chrome under the windows and the side trim yellow, that would be awsome!

thanks and your opinion will matter. I was thinking something like the show summit or how people have taken the white wk and went with a strom trooper look, but since my Emu shocks/struts are yellow, yellow it is...

PS> If you think this will make me look like a big michigan fan, please let me know I graduated from Kent State, same colors and will get personalized plates like "flashes" or something to detur those thoughts. Why I ask this is I am a huge Ohio State fan and go to many games and don't want my Jeep messed with.

Re: To Paint or not to paint! that is the question

^^ on exterior body panels anyways. It'll be just too much IMO. Now if you are going for the yellow combo, ill suggest painting the hood, liftgate, rear glass struts and maybe under the hood parts yellow. Even the calipers, you can paint the Jeep logo in yellow and the caliper in black. It'll pop

x2 on the whole not painting anything yellow.

you have a Buckeye emblem on your back hatch, you can't be driving around in a blue and yellow jeep

Re: To Paint or not to paint! that is the question

No Taxi, just trying to make my WK more unique. I thought it was a little ricer myself, but if it got good reviews i would have done it. so now it looks like i am just going to paint the step pad and cowls back, maybe I'll pull the emu stuff and paint it red to match my calipers

Re: To Paint or not to paint! that is the question

Basically mate, I think most would agree, that painting any piece of trim that is easily removed and painted in an hour such as moulds/wiper arm/side mirrors/etc AND painting them a contrasting colour is bad news, and just screams "early 90's Hyundai driven by a 15 year old tool"..... sorry if that's harsh!

not harsh at all, went back and I looked at the post. If I would have seen this I would have said to anyone near me "look that douche bag killed a nice jeep". glad its not going to happen/

Yes, you will look like a scUM fan. And in Ohio, I would not risk it.
