Vinyl Wrapping

Morning All,
ALMOST done with the chrome delete on my 14' Overland. The chrome trim is next on my to do list. I have purchased 4 rolls of 5x1, and 2 rolls of 5x3 gloss black 3M vinyl. After rough cutting and laying out where/how it will fit around the trim, I came to the conclusion it might be easier to take the mirrors off as 1 full sheet would work better on the front window, much like the back(driver and pass trunk windows).

Has anyone wrapped their Wk2(silly question)? If so, are we taking mirrors off? Are we multi sheet wrapping the windows? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Vinyl Wrapping

I think your best bet would be to take the mirrors off. It looks like the top edge of the lower window trim would be hard to get to sit correctly if the mirror was in place. It might take an extra 10-15 minutes to get the mirrors off but it'll be worth it, saves you the headache of having to work around them.

Mine will definitely be coming off when I paint my window trim.

I just texted you...also, check this out.

For all the DIYers (repair manuals)

That thread has a link to online manuals to do just about everything to your Jeep...check page 2 toward the bottom, there is a password and some instructions to get where you need to go.

Ask help from the veteran installers, why not visit Gatorwraps and request for a quote. I believe they have installers for a vinyl wrap in all major cities.
