Re: What's needed to install HID's?

Well fellows, it looks like I'm going to need a second relay for my fogs. They aren't powering on and I have swapped the fog relay (in the fuse box) to make sure that wasn't the issue.

I would double check all of the wiring... mine didn't need a relay.

When I installed all of my HID stuff I had to go back twice because I had something wired wrong.

Re: What's needed to install HID's?

Yup, it's all 100% connected. This sucks

Is there any other fuse or relay to check under the hood? I already checked the "Fnt Fog Lamps" relay in the forward-most fuse box.

Yes, my 5k lows (with a relay) power up just fine.

Either way, the fogs are a completely separate assembly from the lows...

Re: What's needed to install HID's?

Did you use a wire (relay) harness or just wire them straight up to the headlights?

Well the issue is with the fogs, not the lows. The lows are wired to the driver-side headlight harness and a relay (relay powers the passenger-side headlight). The low-beams work just fine.

The fogs are wired to their respective fog light harness with the ballast, then from the ballast to the HID fog light.

You might have received defective ballasts? IDK... could you try using one of your headlight ballasts with your fogs to see if that might be the problem?

Re: What's needed to install HID's?

I had problems with my fogs initially as well.. They would power up, however would flicker every few minutes.. This was solved by adding a relay.

I've heard something about reversing the polarity of the wires, so that might be the problem.
