You think it's possible that both fog ballast are defective. I could understand that if one fog light didn't work to assume it is the ballast or bulb, but if both aren't working then I'm not sure if the ballasts should be where the finger be pointed first.

.. but I guess I should do that to be sure, thanks Frank!

Hmm. Mine never showed any signs powering up. I'll look into the reversing of polarity (I think it was mentioned in the users manual). I'd rather have the relay just so I never have any issues of "chance" down the road. Thanks Chris!

Re: What's needed to install HID's?

No prob.

I think I had one of the wires on the harness for my fogs reversed unknowingly and was like WTF when it wouldn't power up.. So it took it all apart and started from scratch and caught my mistake while going over the wiring again.. It's worth a try.

Re: What's needed to install HID's?

Yeah, just reading the product sheet now it seems it could very well be the polarity of the harness. Dinner is ready so I'm going to go eat and then reverse the polarity of the fog harness and see if that works. Thanks guys for the quick help... be back on in a little bit.

Re: What's needed to install HID's?

It's where the relay plug goes into the ballst. It doesn't go in the way you think it does. Flip it around with the locking tab on the outside.

Re: What's needed to install HID's?

I literally had my phone out ready to call you Nate and I decided to try one more thing and voila, they work, lol. At first I tried switching the polarity at the HID bulb harness and the plug from the ballast (assuming the wires could be removed and then switched. As I'm getting ready to call Nate I decide to try and flip the factory fog harness and the ballast plus and that was the ticket. I must have misinterpreted the literature in the manual. Oh well, they work now.

Time to adjust the aiming and take some pics.

Thanks guys for the quick help!!!!

This was with the fogs -- no relay involved. But you were right it was the factory fog wiring that needed to be switched (where the relay would have been if it had one. Thanks Nate!!

Re: What's needed to install HID's?

How far down did you guys adjust your lamps after installing HID's?

I just adjusted them as far down as they would go (the housing touching the frame) until I can have someone drive my Jeep behind me in a car.

any of the thousands of WK owners that have HID's will tell you exactly the opposite....

the HID's scatter in the WK stock housings, there is crazy glare and blinding of oncoming drivers...even if adjusted correctly. everyone knows it....why do you not?
