I have an 05 WK with a REC navigation system. It has a satellite radio input that I am not using, but not VES or back up camera or any of that stuff, if that matters.

What are all my options for IPOD integration, how much do they cost, and which one is the easiest to use?

What kind of kit is it? And how does it work? Do you pick songs on the ipod or on the nav screen in dash?

You use it through the Ipod, It is basically just a T connector that pluge between the jeep wiring harness and the back of the deck. I know they have a kit for the jeeps with nav so i think that may be operated through the nav screen.

Call or email them tell them what you have and they will set you up. If you have the nav the install is a bit more complicated then mine but its still do it your self dooable.

I think this is the one I have. It was installed from the dealer but my cable is black. I LOVE IT. can interface the ipod great. search by song, artist, playlist, album, and then look up alphabetically. But the only thing it charges even when the car is off. Got for it..

I'm using this:

http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=14&CategoryID=22

It's made by PAC-Audio, But as it states in the link it doesn't charge the following models but will if you add the isimple thing (which I didn't know about, But glad I now do :) );

• iPhone 3G™
• iPod nano™ (4th Generation)
• iPod touch™ (2nd Generation)
These models require the purchase of an iSimple™, IS710 “Re:Volt” Charging Adapter (sold separately)

Hope this helps

just be careful which one you get!! i got the best one my local shop had and i'm not happy with it. first off all i can do is skip tracks through the factory controls. there is no display of any sort on the radio. i cant switch playlists, or do anything else. it also just stops playing on me at times? when i check the ipod it is like someone pressed pause. weird. anyways for the money make sure you get one that works well and ask whats options it will actually give you over the factory unit. mine cost alot and doesn't do shit! it does charge the ipod as well but big deal. i wish i knew the manufacturer but they put it in and i never asked?? good luck!

Bump!!!

Unfortunately, I need to pick up an iPod adapter now (can't wait for shipping) and I can only find the Peripheral CHYP OEM integration unit locally (would prefer the PAC unit).

Has anyone used the Peripheral CHYP unit? It looks identical to the PAC unit, so I'm assuming they operate identically (i.e. problem free) and my local shop insists that PAC now owns Peripheral Electronics. Just looking for some input.

Plus, it's a killer deal... the shop sells them for $70!
