Re: Wheelskins, worth it?

Here it is with those POS skins, pretty goofy on thin tires but look nice on wider tires.

And after Limited wheels.

Re: Wheelskins, worth it?

Damn, Mine cost me $310 each when i had my MT/rs on my XJ. But i also had 315/75/16 on TJ moabs. Tire crawling FTW!

Then after 6 months i took them off and sold them and bought the best tire known to man, Cooper Discoverere STT's in 315/75/16 for under $300 each.

Re: Wheelskins, worth it?

LOL, Its about the wheel skins not our lifted jeeps. We will keep it that way, i think. lol

I say, dont do it and put that $70 towards mirror covers, I got these. $43 free shipping, you will even have a tank of gas left over.

wow thats preety. LOL. Looks like I'll be having these to accent the chrome fronts.

But yeah seeing all these lifted jeeps man, I kinda wanna do it.. like 60%.. How much $$ will I spend? I wanna be different than most NYC wk's...

I like the look of the meaty tires, it gives it a more meaner approach

Re: Wheelskins, worth it?

IMHO, if you want a simple lift and slightly bigger tires get a 2" BB kit. Like the rustys off road kit. it will be the simplest to install and will require the least amount of added parts and stress on the vehicle. any bigger you get in to mush more expensive kits. $1000 plus. With a 2" bb you can fit a 265/65/17 i think but you would have to check with liftedup or acid cold on the tire sizing. i am unfamiliar with that part.

Rustys kit is best bang for the busk at $250 with rear shocks. This style kit lifts with rear spacers and front spacers.

Then the bigger kit is $1500. includes basic shocks or pay more for better shocks.
http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...ry_Code=WKKITS

You can get a nice rock krawler kit but thats gonna be big money, and superlift is always big money. $350 for a basic kit. No shocks. This kit lifts with rear spacers and front strut fork extensions.

I personally have always loved Rubiconexpress but they do not offer WK setups yet.

i also like Tera flex.

$272 but no rear shocks.
