Re: WK/SRT8 Fender flares-who's interested?

It's pretty easy to make a mold, most of the work is in the prep. Even though they want the flares, they still need a WK to put them on because the flares have to be in place or held in place so they don't twist before or while the fiberglass cures.

Re: WK/SRT8 Fender flares-who's interested?

I wouldnt do fiberglass...too brittle. I was thinking polyurethane. I have a job and family...me doing the molds etc. would be impossible.

Re: WK/SRT8 Fender flares-who's interested?

Just comparing the above pictures with those posted earlier, they look like different kits because of the differences in the bottom portion of the flares. I have no doubt that Scott will make these flares absolutely stunning. Looking forward to seeing it. By the way, the SRT above is pretty fawking hot!

Re: WK/SRT8 Fender flares-who's interested?

There not the same, Scott's ones are from German based Delta4x4. The ones in that picture are from an Austrian company called Konigseder. One of the main differences is that the konigseder kit goes all the way to the bottom of the side skirts while the Delta4x4 goes until the top of the skirts. I believe the konigseder kit goes for 3,000 euros.

Also, the headlights are from Vmaxx and not Startech.

A picture of the Konigseder

And a pic of the konigseder raw kit. Note the extra side skirt cover.

Re: WK/SRT8 Fender flares-who's interested?

Scott's are ( Deltas ), i've seen them in Person ... in MY Opinion, they are Ugly JUST BCZ they do not flush with the Bumpers at their ends...

I've ALSO seen the ( Konigseders ) in Person, They are NICER in the Way they Flush with the Fenders, BUT , also Ugly BCZ they have those ricey Meshy Holes between the doors and the flaires...

So both are Ugly, and WAY WAY WAY pricey... but each kit completes the other..

If scott's deltas were extended and made to flush with the fenders, they will LOOK AWESOME ! i guess he can sell them to the world as the nicest WK wide body kit available

Again, thats only my opinion.

Re: WK/SRT8 Fender flares-who's interested?

I come from the VW world, where Konigseder has been around a while. They definitely make a quality product, but the VW kits seem a little more seamless rather than tacked on. This has been an awesome discussion, I am glad to see that the WK has some other visual mod support other than SRT stuff...makes for different flavors!

Re: WK/SRT8 Fender flares-who's interested?

I think what we are looking for in terms of alignment is what Hamze has implemented. His thread is at Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone he explains in post #130 the secret of the alignment
