0-60

The timeslips sticky shows 60', 1/8 mile, and 1/4 mile numbers but no 0-60s.

Since are several roads with limits at or above 60 mph now took the Laredo and a Tesla GTech Pro accelerometer out this morning to record some baseline numbers. Were several 0-60s ranging from 7.19 to 7.26 seconds. Eliminating the fastest and slowest, the average was 7.23 seconds. One shift right on 50 mph at 6300 rpm.

Did not do anything or remove any weight first (has towing package & full sized spare) & has 1200 miles now so broken in.

IAT did get up to 119F (82F day) so am curious to see what effect if any the CAI has (fastest run was at 103F IAT). Had "Torque" on Android tablet acting as a flight recorder so generated a lot of data. Beats rolling Brush charts down a long hallway.

Was seeing about .58 psi/1.2"/hg backpressure (IMAP) over 6000 with stock intake/air filter.

Are others seeing similar numbers ?

Re: 0-60

Are you saying this is a stock 5.7 hemi number and that you are going to add the CAI? I am anxious to find out if the CAI can reduce the 0-60, in other words does it add any power?

Re: 0-60

That sounds about right. I recently posted some numbers from Motor Trend's 10/10 comparison of the V8 Overland et al. In that test, the V8 Overland did 0-60 in 7.6. So factoring in the few hundred extra pounds from the Quadra Lift, panorama roof, 20" wheels, ACC package, etc. that the truck in that test had, your 7.2 average in the Laredo sounds about right.

Re: 0-60

No, sorry I was not clear, this is the Pentastar V6 (Don't think the Hemi shifts at 6300 rpm).

As to the second, I am planning to add the Mopar CAI because the IAT runs too hot IMNSHO. Wanted to run some baselines to determine what conditions exist stock (such as the IMAP readings for WOT and high RPM).

In that case you're a full 1.2s ahead of the 0-60 time (8.4s) that Motor Trend got with the V6 Limited in that same comparison test. That truck had the 20" wheels, single-pane roof and ACC package.

2wd or 4wd? Any options? (Sunroof, 20" wheels, leather)

Re: 0-60

None of the above, a Laredo "E" 2WD with towing package. Cloth seats. Stock 17" Goodyears. I did add the tubular side rails and cargo compartment cover. G-Tablet and Accelerometer prolly added another 2 lbs.

Broad torque curve was over 90% from 2500 rpm stall on up, is quite quick in this configuration though flat torque curve masks acceleration & can see torque converter multiplication changing in the logs.

Weight differential between models is why I have trouble understanding how all V6s and all V8s have the same highway MPG.

Not particularly lightweight driver & 92% (24 gal) 87 PON on board. Suspect an empty tank, no spare, 50 psi in the tires, & jockey would have gotten under 7 seconds.

Re: 0-60

^^ The V6's and V8's don't have the same highway MPG. The V6 is generally a couple or a few better on the highway.

Re: 0-60

OY. I meant for all configurations of V6 for both GC and Durango, the EPA highway MPG (23) does not change regardless of model, 2WD or 4WD, or weight. The Hemi is the same (20 MPG).

My highway MPG is running 24-26 and I suspect it is because mine is much lighter than some others.

Ah, well your GC is about as light as they get but I'm still impressed with the 0-60. Maybe you could run it with the tank empty? J/K!

The city mileage is going to be affected a lot by weight, but the highway is mostly about gearing and wind resistance with drivetrain and rolling resistance in there as well. I would think you should see a small drop with 4x4 but options and weight won't really be a factor.

Re: 0-60

Yeah weight is a HUGE deal. Im not knocking the V8 at all because I would love to have the Hemi power in my V6 Overland all day long, but after I bought my new 2012 V6 I was actually kind of excited to see how tiny the engine was inside the bay with all that extra room. Made me feel like I was saving some pretty significant weight compared to the Hemi version.
After 1200 miles so far with my Overland V6 I can say I am impressed with the power. I thought for sure it was going to feel like a slug all the time. It really doesnt though, and infact in sport mode it actually feels pretty damn nimble and if you get on it at the right speed it feels somewhat quick too! Sure it isnt the Hemi or an SRT, but its not bad considering.

I'm thinking your Gtech is off by about 1 sec -- in your favor.
