In your OP you said you drove the vehicle only 30 mile. Have you even run a tank of gas through it? Let's assume that the mechanic is right, and the vehicle was sitting around in the lot for a while and the E10 gas absorbed water. It could explain it.

If you need the Hemi wait for the 2014 with the ZF 8 speed or if you need one now try the V6. The trans is awesome in my 2012. My last WK with the Hemi had the same shuddering like the torque converter could not make its mind up. This is the main reason I stayed away from Hemi this time. Do not like that trans.

What they gave you is a total line of BS. First the fuel system is sealed and should not have any moisture in it on a 2013 that could not have been on the lot for more than a few months. The shudder was probably a torque coverter shudder which would have nothing to do with fuel but hopefully will go away as it breaks in. The trans may have just had some air in it and this could cause the shudder you describe.

I seem to recall a couple of threads that described exactly the same thing. I think there's a TSB for a transmission shudder when going up slight hills. Others on the site have had the problem and the TSB has fixed it. When the CEL came on did the dealer tell you what code it was throwing?

As you use gas, what takes its place in the tank? I think if it was totally sealed you'd be creating quite a vacuum when you used up 20 gallons of fuel'

Thats not normal. You can feel the 4 to 8 cyl thing but you can also see it happening when the eco light goes on or off. I feel that when I have the cruise set at 75 and I go up a hill otherwise it's not really noticeable.

I have felt a little shutter before in downshifted at around 50ish maybe. It's only ever done it twice though in 3k miles.

BTW a can of heat will take care of water in the tank if that were true, but I think its a load of BS.

If they say its normal go ask to drive another one to compare it...

I kind of jumped the gun in my other post but id actually just keep driving it and everything should smooth out, im almost to 10k on my WK2 and it seems like its running a bit smoother now,granted i had a few problems but my dealer has a new SM and he seems to gotten everything ironed out. I guess sometimes you can have a rough relationship at first(both with people and cars) but everyone should eventually get along. lol

It helps to know what code is tripped and what it means before you go in. If you have a PC or Tablet or even a smart phone you can get everything you need from Amazon for about $30 (iPhone/MacOS costs more).

For my opinionated site, see here. BTW Tablets are about to go through a radical change & I would not buy anything today that is Android or iOS based. You can buy a full Windows 8 tablet (not RT) with an MSRP of $100 less than an iPad with the same memory.

Probably water in the trans fluid .... make 'em evacuate the ALL the fluid in the trans, including torque convertor and transfer case.

They shipped a bunch of brand new 2012 GC SRT8's from the factory like this.

My 2009 GC SRT8 developed a shudder at 5K miles, I got rid of it and bought a 2010 GC SRT8... and that one eventually started acting up with the rancid smell coming from the bellhousing after a nice romp... the reason I will not buy another Grand Cherokee.

They may look nice, but poorly engineered.

Good luck.. next time, take that new car for a long test drive before signing legal documents.
