1 month Overland review

I have had my overland for about 5 weeks now and I am in the position to compare it to the 11 Limited I had for about 6 months. The big difference is the overland has the V-8 the air suspension and the 20 inch wheels. As far as problems the Limited spent a large amount of time at the dealer with a drivetrain noise issue which is why i don't have it any longer. As far as performance the V-8 is the engine to get this thing is just perfect for this jeep. The 6 was always struggling to move it and the trans was a mess matched to this engine. The ride with the limited I think was softer I think alot of that may be becase it had the 18 inch wheels where the overland has the low profile tires. The oveland has been in once for a qudra lift problem and they replaced the compressor and seems to be fixed hopefully for good. I do notice on the overland at low speed over rough pavement you do feel a lot move of it through the steering wheel this could also be the low profile tires maybe combined with the air suspension. I can always find something I would like to see better, but overall I am very happy with this Jeep.

Did your Limited ever get the transmission TSB performed?

Yes it did and it made a big improvement, no doubt about it. This engine just needs more speeds. If you drive a 2010 grand cherokee with the 3.7 and the same trans it is clearly a much better match. You would never guess that it has the same transmission. I agree before the updates it was ridiclous. I don't even know how they let it out like that with the millions of miles of testing. I knew from the start I should have got the Hemi. I would have lived with it had I not had the drivetrain noise that kept it in and out of shop for three months. I had ordered that one and waited 6 weeks for it and then in the end I have an overland that I bought off the lot.
