1 Up Bike Rack

I wanted to share a great product! I recently got a 1up Bike Rack and I absolutely love it. Anyone in need of a quality bike rack, this is it!

I guess in the way of hitch mounted carriers it is nice, just hate the look of them.

There is a recall for Treks with disc brakes. Just letting you know.

Some Trek bicycles were sold equipped with disc brakes and a front quick release lever that opens past 180° (fig. 1). If the quick release is improperly adjusted or left open on a bicycle which also has a front disc brake, the quick release lever can become caught in the front disc brake assembly

My bike is not affected by this.

Re: 1 Up Bike Rack

I also have the 1UP Bike rack (double carriers). It's pretty much destruction proof and it might look dumb at first, but it grows on you.

You can get it in either non-coated (steel colored like the one in the picture) or powder coated black to match a darker JGC.

things to watch out for:

1. If you're going to be removing/adding it on your wk2 back and forth, you probably won't need to go to the gym anymore because the double carrier isn't very light. It's also pretty awkward to carry because you'll most likely hit your shins on the rack. That's no fun either. My advice: just keep it on.

2. If you get the double carrier, it definitely blocks your liftgate so don't expect to use your liftgate unless you want a nice scratch on your wk2. Luckily, there are settings to change the angle where the rack sits. I've kept mine angled about 45 degrees so that the liftgate clears even with the rack on.

3. If you have kids, make sure they're careful to not run around the car. The corners of the rack are very sharp (I'm sure you can file it down or something). I can post a picture of my double carrier sometime later.

I agree, this thing is great!

I also purchased the add on for when my wife joins me for a ride. I wanted the ability, which I LOVE about this rack, to carry only one bike since I ride 3-4 time a week.
