100% Inspection

I have placed an order for a black/black limited, nav, lux ii, and 20" wheels in late April. I called jeep today to check the status of the vehicle and I was told that the car was selected for 100% inspection. With the reliability issues these vehicles have I was happy to find this out.

For those of you that tracked the status of your vehicle, anyone else have 100% inspection done and if so have you had any issues after receiving the vehicle?

Re: 100% Inspection

There is good and bad....
- the good, you will get a complete inspection and presumably any adjustments will be made that are detected and deemed necessary
- the bad, you will have to wait...perhaps weeks...longer before yours arrives at the dealership

Re: 100% Inspection

I am probably going to finally leave Ford when the lease expires and order a 2015 GC Overland in July. I can wait until the cows come home if it means no misaligned panels or tailgate defects. Can one request to get on the 100% inspection or another priority list?

Re: 100% Inspection

The wife thinks I almost have my own 100% inspection list.
She is going to drop me off at the dealer when the car is delivered and wait for me to get home that night!
Now at Revision 4

Re: 100% Inspection

I don't mind waiting longer if that means there will be no issues. Even with a 100% inspection I am not confident that I won't find anything at pickup.

Mag thanks for the link. I just started working on my checklist. I think I am definitely going to use yours. I may have missed it but do you have a line to check the front cv boots for leaks? Probably should happen before and after the test drive

Yes the CV outer ring clamp check is listed at N#89 on Revision 4. The last post in that thread.
It not a perfect list however, its designed to keep me focused on inspecting the product and identify anything to the dealer then and there. I know I'm also going to be very excited and proud about getting my first USA build vehicle and Jeep on the day.

If it helps to alleviate your concerns, I had no issues except I did adjust the driver's side hood bumper stop so it was adjusted perfectly for the hood alignment (surprised dealer prep didn't catch it). The one issue I did have, which there is probably no way of spotting the problem with an inspection, is the CV outer clamps in the two front wheels. From what we know to date, unless the clamp has begun to rotate or slip off, owners and dealers inspecting the clamp can't tell anything is wrong. My front half axles were replaced and all is now perfect....water under the bridge and my one new vehicle issue is done and over with. I have 1,100 miles on it now and loving it.

No. The factory pulls vehicles randomly for the 100% inspection from what has been posted in the past. Most people would be bummed since that can cause significant delays from built status to delivery. Odds are, yours will be fine.

Sorry to change the subject but I noticed that on the checklist it says under FOB that the windows roll down when pressing the unlock key and then holding it down (or something like that). Is that for the 2014's? I herd and read that the 2014's do not have that feature.

Re: 100% Inspection

Makris0000
You maybe 100% correct.. I haven't confirmed that feature works for the Aussie build, but I did read it on one of the threads to check..
So with that, I included it for when my Jeep arrives.
If I get info from current owners that the feature has been removed, then I'll remove that line item in Revision 5. It's not perfect, but I wanted to consolidate what I was reading over the last 3- 4 months into a list for me to take when my Awesome delivery day arrives.

Ok thanks. I was trying to look into that feature and some say the 2014s have it and some say they don't but I didn't have a chance to try it yet. I hope it has it.

Re: 100% Inspection

If you try it and it works or not let me know.
I'm unsure of what configurations are in or out for the Aussie market, but I'll have to try it to know for sure.

I've just come back from a work course in California and was able to get around without the family this time to look at the features you guys get as standard in the US vehicles compared to us Downunder.
That was one of the main reasons for buying a Jeep. Made in the USA...
My family and I have visited many many times and love the country and many of the people we meet.. The Jeep arrival is like a little bit of the United States in our garage and soon to be our daily drive......
