115VAC Power inverter

Read the owner's manual and user guide sections about the 115VAC power inverter and didn't find anything that described the quality of power. Assuming the power supply is some form of a switched mode power supply.

The reason I am asking is to find out if anyone has experienced any detrimental effects on any devices that were plugged into this power supply. Haven't used mine for anything yet.

Re: 115VAC Power inverter

It's basically an inexpensive 12vdc inverter. I believe it's under the passenger front seat.
I use mine all the time for small stuff such as laptop chargers, phone chargers, soldering iron, aquarium air pumps (when transporting fish), and whatever else I feel the need to use. No issues with any of it. Then again, I don't normally have anything plugged in there more than a few hours.

I was pondering modding the plug to have a true 3 pole receptacle vs the 2 pole that is OEM. On the other hand, if I went through the trouble of that, I'd probably upgrade the inverter to have more than one outlet in the console and possibly add one to the rear of the vehicle as well. Just haven't motivated myself to do so yet.

Re: 115VAC Power inverter

Works fine to recharge phones and run a portable DVD player, but my daughter tried using it for an electric blanket and it didn't work well with the high setting.

Re: 115VAC Power inverter

Its only good for 150 watts. About 1.5 amps. Anything with heat or motors will be far beyond the rating of this feature.
