Re: '13 Trailhawk production numbers

What's the best way to do this? Should we have the forum leader arrange for a "sticky" post so that our thread will also be visible in the Wk2 forum? As people enter the info, I'd be glad to record it into an excel spreadsheet if we all think that's the best way

No inclines at JNAP. I've seen this happen with 0 miles on level ground inside the plant.

I think this is just a characteristic of the 5.7L. Just like the "Hemi Tick".

Re: '13 Trailhawk production numbers

Scott, the founder of the wk2 forum will set us up a "sticky" so we can start to collect the production info. If there are no other objections or suggestions, I'll collect this info into an excel spreadsheet to track. I will use the Jeep.com website to first find all the trailhawks that have not yet been sold.

After consuming a quart in 600 miles, I decided to bring in the Trailhawk. The service guys called today and it looks like the valve guides or stems are bad. Gotta be a factory defect..it's been consuming oil since I got it.

On a good note, I did some off-roading in Big Bear this past weekend!

Re: '13 Trailhawk production numbers

You guys know about the "Trailhawk Registery" thread located here in the WK2 section:

GC Trailhawk Registry

Also, someone asked about reliability... well if it's as good as my '97 XJ, that I bought new, I'll be real happy!

Re: '13 Trailhawk production numbers

What a minute... First the service department says possibly it's the valve guides/bent valves to oil pan and software?
Seems to me that losing a quart of oil from the pan would mean it's going somewhere, like all over the underside of the Jeep or your garage floor.

Regardless, good to hear you got it back!

Initially the service rep told me that it was the value guides, etc. when the tech checked it out he found a TSB and repaired according to that. That TSB was a replacement of oil pan and a software update (something to do w vaccum)

3 days in a row with no blue smoke at startup! I'm thinking the oil pan and software update did the trick although I don't really understand how the valve guides/stems could allow oil through under any circumstances if they're good
