Re: 14 GC Altitude*factory back up cam*?

No this is not from westbury jeep. It's actually the window sticker on the vehicle i purchased that will be here next monday. It is a factory installed option and has rear back up sensors from the factory*Parksense rear park assist system*.Late 14's were available with the same options as the 15's.They were suppose to be an option on the 14's but from what i am told there was a supply issue.

Re: 14 GC Altitude*factory back up cam*?

I picked up mine yesterday with the park view backup camera and 9 speaker with surround installed all factory spec. Glad they added these MY15 options to the late MY14. These 2 options were the 2 biggest issues, I saw withe the Altitude Package. glad they realized they made a mistake not including those options

Re: 14 GC Altitude*factory back up cam*?

I was quoted at $670 for the camera + taxes and installation.

That is a bit steep for the camera

Probably more of the installation (labor) costs. Camera should be $395 before tax + install/labor. Shop around with other dealers. Prices will vary then pick the best place.

Does it also include ParkSense (the back up sensors in the bumper)?

Yup,just saw my bright white roll off the truck. Excited to see it here earlier then the dealer anticipated which was Monday the 14th. Hopefully the dealer can get it all ready for me so I can pick it up Saturday.

Yes, me too. I complained directly to Chrysler about this. Not like its going to do anything. But it might. I will continue to make my voice heard.

I have been working with a dealership and their parts guy kept offering me an aftermarket system. With everything I have been reading in the forums, I had him look back into it. Saw him today, he said he contacted all of his sources and did his own research and confirmed it is on some later MY14 Altitudes.

He then contacted chrysler parts directly and according to him "they didn't tell me now, they said wait". He said he has had this problem with headlights upgrades, he said for weeks he tried to get the stock part and chrysler said no and then one day he called and they gave him a part number. So to me it seems like its coming as an add on. Phew. I am ready.

IMO, Chrysler should do the right thing and offer it to us without labor costs. I feel like if we can pay for the parkview setup (camera and sensors) then Chrysler should cover the labor since this mishap is due to their supply of parts. I feel wronged even though I really love the car.

What. Really? It's like a MY change or update at half life of the MY. No reason to feel wronged. If these items were a need then you should have waited or gone with the JGC Limited option.

Just hold tight. The part numbers will become active once the 15's start hitting the dealers. Maybe even before. One thing to also keep in mind is if the wiring is still the same, or was that changed to? Regardless I'm waiting as patient as I can as well. Love the Altitude.

Appreciate the sentiment. I am staying patient. Love the car. Yours is badass too. Wish I had the balls to tint my windows. I have had to many tickets for that and I am just not willing to keep getting them.

This is my first Jeep or Chrysler or anything American. Mostly Hondas, Toyotas, and Hyundais. Making a part not available on a specific model due to a "supply issue" when it is available on other versions of the same model and then making it available as factory option mid year on that other model. Seems weird to me. Seems like they tried to pass this under the nose of people buying those cars during the supply shortage.

I understand they can't just say we aren't selling the Altitude because of camera part shortage. But I feel that it should be more transparent. Especially from the dealer level. So its understandable yet weird in my book. Maybe my mentality is wrong. Mid year MY upgrades have never happened to me before.

That being said, I agree, its coming. Very soon I feel. And I am holding out for a the factory version. Can't wait.
