Depends on if the dealer wants to eat into their holdback. If you have the affiliate and get 2%, they get that back plus they would still have their holdback. If you got say 5% with the Affiliate, then you are getting the holdback from the dealer and they get 2% back

I'm confused on the holdback. I just did the accessfund thing and have my control #. I get 1% under invoice from the affiliate program, are you saying the dealer gets the 1% back plus their 3% holdback? I just want to know how much is on the table when I try to negotiate my trade-in.

Those who used accessfund - did they want to see your card? I just joined, but wanted to finish up the deal this weekend.

You get the 1%, the dealer gets 2% back for you using it. They still have the 3% MSRP holdback. In theory, if you as for 5%, you are taking everything from them.

Sno,

If I have my Affiliate Control # but ask for 3% Below Invoice instead of just 1% that uses up the Dealers 3% Holdback - is that right ?

But since it's through the Affiliate Program, does the Dealer still get 2% Back from Chrysler even though I got 3% off ?

So then I get 3% Below Invoice and they still get 2% Back - a Win/Win for both of us ?

I believe that to be correct. They would still get 2% back.

46.125 otd price plus license title and tax for a 2014 overland with the V8 and the advanced tech package. I checked milious numbers and inventory on that vehicle is about 47,579 approximately. What do you think of the otd price?

Re: '14 JGC - How to negotiate price??

Yeah.

I think that's why you can get a dealer to 2% pretty easily.

3% most will walk.

Anything beyond 3% they are going to nail you on a trade, or are a large dealership (like Dave Smith) and can make up the loss on sheer volume.

There are quite a few dealers that will do 3% (Vendor near Chicago a 1 of them). The dealer I am going to is 6% and they will use the affiliate numbers to get some back.

Re: '14 JGC - How to negotiate price??

2% I didn't have to fight much on.

3% I could only get a handful to go to (and most were restricted to specific trims).

Anything beyond 3% (atleast up here) was a no go.

I should add, this was on a "Group Buy" negotiation. I'm relatively sure I could beat a couple dealers up more and get them up a little more.
