I'm glad someone else understands how leasing works. I actually ended up doing a sign and drive throwing all fees and everything into the lease. My checking account grows at almost 2%, might as well keep all the money I can in there and pay it off at 0.23%... Then I can get a used car loan in 3 years if I want and buy it, or sell it, or whatever I decide to do. Like you said, pretty much free money.

Plus you save immediately on the taxes and everything you would have to pay up front on a purchase. I don't have the final numbers in front of me but I think the final sale price on mine was approximately $43900 and some change including fees and everything. $80 doc fee I remember that. Monthly payment is $598 which is including the 8.25% taxes for my county.

Re: 14' Lease Rates (April)

I was quoted between $1750 and $2250 IDL on leasing a 2014 depending on trim -- program expired at the end of this month. MF was about 2% higher then Ally and residual was the same as your quote. My rough math favored the rebate over the higher rate but I'd like see somebody show me otherwise.

When talking about lease benefits, if you are self employed, it's easy to write off the entire cost of the lease.

I am self employed. I should look into that benefit.

I just read up some. I think the most I could responsibly deduct would be about 30-50%. That would be significant though. I'll talk to my accountant.

I'd double check on the IDL cash for a 2014. I think you've been misinformed. There's also no admin fee with these leases. It's like a very cheap financing deal. I'm so close to going to my dealer tomorrow to pick an overland up right from his lot to lock in that low interest rate. Who knows what May will bring.

Perhaps it's not available in your geographic area but it's 100% confirmed in NJ. Here is an example of two dealer's advertising the IDL on the 2014's;

New 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee NJ 4WD Laredo 3.6L V6 24V VVT Flex Fuel 8-Speed Automatic (845Re) SUV Jeep Grand Cherokee for sale in New Jersey at Seaview Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Ocean Township NJ.

Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram | New Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep dealership in East Brunswick, NJ 08816 (first special)

The dealer I eventually purchased from, Baker Jeep, also was offering $1750 IDL on a 2014 Limited, but does not advertise it. Instead I took the $5000 IDL on the 2013 model years instead.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does IDL stand for?

Re: 14' Lease Rates (April)

Alright so I finally plugged everything in to the ridewithg calculator that I use and got extremely close (within about $0.04) of my monthly payment. I leased on Wednesday. Very happy with the deal. I know there are only a few days left in April but yeah. 2014 Grand Cherokee V6 Overland 4x4 Advanced Tech. MSRP is $48685 (incl destination). I used the Affiliates deal plus some negotiating, and then I had a lease conquest for an extra off that they included as a sort of "down payment". So I ended up doing a sign and drive. I've paid nothing so far for this vehicle, so I manipulated the numbers in the calc (sale price and fees rolled in) to make it as exact as possible to what I got.

I'm on my way to my dealer this afternoon. Hopefully, it'll be as easy as just signing on the dotted line since we agreed to numbers already.

Re: 14' Lease Rates (April)

So I leased my truck this morning. Overland with tech package. I did a 39 month lease so that if I decide to buy it at the end, I've had 3 more months of an interest rate at .23% before I need to secure financing for it.

This is the crazy thing about the lease interest rate being so low, with residuals being kinda low too. Even if I wanted to buy, it would have been cheaper to lease it first since Ally doesn't charge a fee. This month, there was no admin fee either. Cheaper money than I thought I could have ever gotten.

The only bad thing with a 39 month lease is that you have to pay for registration again at 36 months..
