Re: '14 Overland - Demo Pricing??

That is outright offensive. $750 under MSRP is more than you should pay for it brand new. I would look up the value of it as a used car, take off $1k and ask for that, had they not started with something so asinine. I agree with the others here, do NOT buy your Jeep from this guy/dealership. They don't deserve your business.

Personally, I would have a good laugh while I was leaving that dealership. Honesty after something like that it would take A LOT more for me just to even pick up a phone to talk with them.

Obviously they think you are a moron. Why on earth would you buy a used car for the price of a new one? Also this is probably an early build so that would warrant some additional discount. Get ThreadLightly membership and get affiliate pricing 1% under invoice and order a new one. Just not from those clowns, if they are not sincere they will find a way to take you for a ride.

The sales guy asked me to come to the dealership tonight and meet with the GM. For shitsandgiggles, I went...

The GM now has 4300 miles on the Overland and is still not willing to budge on the discount. I asked him to take a few thousand off the invoice to compensate for the depreciation. He laughed at me and told me since its never been titled it can still be sold as new. He said they will not go any lower than 1% below invoice now because I'm an affiliate and they have to do things "by the books".

This Overland was loaded with the Adv. Tech package, QuadraDrive II and Chrome Package. I told him that I didnt really want those options. Both he and the sales guy had the nerve to tell me "an Overland is an Overland, they all come with those features, they're practically standard." (I rolled my eyes...)

He said, come on you should get it, you deserve it, you like those ventilated seats dont ya?.... To which I replied, I dont mind the cold air on my rear end from those seats, but I sure dont like someone blowing smoke up my butt. I got to walk out with my head held high and they weren't at their quota.

They are NOT getting my business. Shallow people. They've insulted me three times now. So I'm starting my search for a decent dealer in Pittsburgh or DC if someone can help get me in on this group buy thing!?!

Technically I think they are correct on 2 small points but it doesn't change fact they are clowns.

The title issue, I think demos are "technically" are new but dealers do have to factor in the miles into price. Can't sell it for sticker when new ones could be had for invoice.

Once you go affiliate they are gonna stick to that because they get a little kick-back from Chrysler on those deals 2%. Little win win for both sides I guess. Affiliate is a quick no hassle decent deal but you can do better if you are good at arm twisting them. Personally I don't like all the games so affiliate was quick and easy for me.

The base Overland is really loaded but the advanced tech package and chrome packages are optional so you can still get a base overland without that for 47 sticker.

Agree I'd just look elsewhere.

If you can get a new one build NOW just for you (colors, options, etc) for the same price why would you want to get a used, already build car?

This is demo car. It is not like they changed oil at 500 miles and went gently for the first couple of hundred of miles. I bet you first thing that everybody does is floor that thing to see how fast it can go. Also looks for the biggest potholes to see how suspension is dealing with it. You would never do that to your car but who cares, it is a demo.

Stay away ... for that price get your self a new one from factory. I got mine with 7 miles on it and factory sticker with my name on it (BUILD FOR: XXX) with all the options and colors that I wanted.

Re: '14 Overland - Demo Pricing??

I'd agree. $51.8K sticker isn't within sanity range of the affiliate price.
I just bought a Hemi/Overland with the OR-II and Adv Tech Group for under 50K.

You might want to try a few more dealers in the area to see if any are a bit more interested in moving iron than gouging customers.

Price out your options on the jeep web site and request quotes using a couple nearby zip codes... then get your Affiliate number, although the initial price I got from local dealer was pretty darned close to final affiliate price where a 2014 Overland/Hemi with offroad II and adv technology group and mud flaps was well under $50K.

That's sheer BS.

They can go under 1% off invoice, and can even do better than that on options you might not want. I got 60% off the adv group because they had an exact match for what I wanted at a nearby dealer except it had that option.

Note, it is a sort of handy option to have--although moose aren't metallic enough to trigger the collision warning.

Re: '14 Overland - Demo Pricing??

I wont comment on the price, as everyone else has, but for the record, when buying a demo, the warranty starts on the day you take delivery, so if it has 4K miles, the warranty will cover to 40K not 36K miles.
