'14 Power Steering Rack - Replacement Prodedure

Does anyone have a link or a PDF they can send me showing the repair procedure (one the dealer would use) for replacing a power steering rack in a 2014 Grand Cherokee?

This is a very important and semi urgent matter.

* Mods* if this needs to be moved to the "troubleshooting" forum then i apologize. I assumed this was just a general question/request.

Please PM me if you need my email address.

Thanks!

I don't have a manual but mine was replaced in my 14 Limited last year and it took only about an hour.

If it's for a V6 WK2 it isn't bad. If you have a V8 you're in for a world of hurt. You can't do it really without a lift and a special engine brace tool -- the entire front engine cradle (along with the associated suspension components) has to come down.

Yes a Hemi equipped WK2 steering rack replacement is a nightmare! Would have to have the dealer do it or a competent shop w/air tools and a lift.

I have a service manual on CD if anyone wants the entire procedure, let me know.

Just curious why the rack needs replacing? BTW, if you don't do any serious off-roading, the SRT unit has a faster ratio.

The rack was already replaced back in September @ 345 miles, due to "a faulty fitting."

My jeep has since been back in the shop numerous times for an electrical problem that the dealer cannot figure out. I wanted to see for myself if maybe something electrical was inadvertently damaged during the installation. No other work has been done to the jeep since the rack, so it got me thinking.
