Re: 14' Summit new tires and tow hooks

Hi all I'm glad to see the pics on the 2014 Summit. I have been looking to find out where to cut access to mount the tow hooks. I'm frustrated there's no kit from Jeep. I also have terra grapplers on my summit although I went for the 285/50/20 there a lot wider and taller than stock. They do make more noise than the stock tires but they pull real good. The 2013 Trail Halk 2 that was at Moab has a SRT facia with a custom lower panel that looks like it would work on the 14 summit. I have tried to contact jeep about availability and fit, but no luck so far.

It has been over a year, and I have 36,000 miles on the Nittos. I will say they did better off road, but with the south Texas mud i got stuck more than normal (no tire would have made a difference). I am very glad I installed the tow hooks, i had to be pulled out a half dozen times in the last year (once by dozer as I was so deep). See video.

Around 29k the tires started to get loud. Around 31k, they got unbearably loud around 40-50 mph, especially on asphalt. it hasnt gotten better, even with balancing and rotating. I wanted to wait till tread went done more, say 40k, but dont think i will wait that long. Just trying to decide what to get next
