14' Suspension..Tighter

Hello,

Well after my last thread...im much calmer now...jeep 8.4 screen working properly now..for now..:/

Anyhow..my only other lil dislike of the whole Cherokee is the suspension feels a lil floaty on highway to me now,,, cause im pretty anal and coming from a 2012 srt8 cherokee( I know this is no srt8,,but bare with me)..How can i tighten up the suspension on my 2014 limited...5.7 lux II

I was thinking Bilstein shocks? I dont have the adjustable suspension keep in mind

Or change out the springs for maybe some H&R?

I do zero off roading only city commuting.

anyone have any knowledge on this subject I really appreciate it.

Re: 14' Suspension..Tighter

Are you still running the stock forteras? You may want to consider new tires before messing with the suspension. The forteras handled terribly and were one of the first things I swapped. My current tires handle far better in all conditions and the floaty bounciness i felt with the forteras is gone.

If you do a search, you'll see a lot of threads of people changing the tires and having a much better ride. Tires are your connection to the road and can have a huge impact on road feel, bounciness etc...

The sidewalls on the forteras are very soft and rollover easily which can cause that floaty feeling. You could try adjusting the tire pressure on them to see if that helps at all.

Re: 14' Suspension..Tighter

Hmm not sure.. I just called jeep parts and the guy didn't think that it's possible.. Said the control arms and such are different.. Is there aftermarket sway bars?

Re: 14' Suspension..Tighter

Swaybars will help with reducing roll but will not do anything in a straight line and will not assist with a 'planted' feel. Springs will give a stiffer ride & less roll but without accompanying shocks they will also feel floaty. What you really need are better shocks to still the suspension movement more quickly.
