+1 on the SRT, I daily drive the wheels off mine. Snow tires make it great all winter, and yes, it rides firm. Like a high performance SUV should.

Re: 16 hemi limited or SRT?

Do you ever plan on taking your GC offroad? If so, then the HA hemi you spoke about would be the better choice. Otherwise, it sounds like you really want a SRT and are just trying to talk yourself into it. If you can afford it, and want it: do it.

16 hemi limited or SRT?

The original poster of this thread has since creating this thread already bought a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT in granite color.

Re: 16 hemi limited or SRT?

Great point! The SRT is not your rig for off-road.

I would get the SRT. Don't off-road so there is nothing to worry about.

Really wish you could get SRT 6.4 motor in an Overland.
The WJ's had the 4.7... the Overland got the 4.7HO...

The air suspension could not handle that power. It would be a floppy mess.

Really? ... Or more likely, air suspension is used to create ground clearance for trail riding and the SRT uses springs for more of a tuned ride for the given sport purpose of the SRT.

I find the 5.7 quite adequate for the Overland. It has plenty of torque for moving the WK2 along nicely in traffic. It will haul ass in sport mode. It sounds good without being obnoxious, and still returns very respectable MPG when you're not acting like a hooligan.

I'm still firmly planted in the camp of Sport Cars are cars, not SUV's. But to each, his own.

Yeah because I bet all these Grand Cherokees are out hitting the trails. I bet not even 10% these things sold see uneven pavement, other than in the mall parking lot. And yes really, slam on the brakes and there's severe nose dive. By the time you stop the front has to air back up. Step on the gas from a stop (ever so lightly) and the ass squats more than necessary. Put the 6.4 in it and QL would be garbage.

Re: 16 hemi limited or SRT?

Both will have garbage gas mileage. Why is this even a choice? If the SRT is on the table, you take it over the hemi.

If its on the table, I assume you dont need to off road much.
