Re: 16 shifter

There is a dedicated thread to just this. To answer your question, no. At this point no one knows if it will work. Even if the shifter works and is plug and play that doesn't solve the issue that the sport mode is now activated by a switch on the center stack compared to the '14/'15 where you just slap the shifter backwards.
Go ahead and be the guinea pig, there is a complete 2016 console with shifter and all on eBay for $299.

Another way to activate sport mode is to just tap one of the paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

Least that's how I engage sport mode when I'm ready. You can disengage from the wheel too. So I don't see it being a major problem if someone were to upgrade to the '16+ shifter.

I posted pictures of my center console torn apart showing the harness, connector pin out and shifter body mech in my '15.

Still waiting for someone to post pics of their '16.

You sure? I had no idea the paddles turned sport mode on. I thought that if you were in normal mode and hit a paddle it did nothing more than allow manual shifting, but kept it in the same driving mode. I will have to try that next time I drive.
There was a 2016 console for sale on eBay complete with shifter and all for less than $300 bucks. Not sure if it's still on there, but even as new as they are the shifters are becoming somewhat readily available.

Oh, what I meant was using the paddles on the steering wheel to engage manually shifting.... I mis read what you said about sport mode. I got the two confused... Woops! 😫

Re: 16 shifter

So that goes back to the issue of how do you turn on sport mode if you change out to a '16 shifter? That's kinda been the question all along right?
