This is correct. Any dealer you order from will charge the $995 fee. It is a non-negotiable item as the dealer gets charged the full $995. Milous or Pat said you can technically order from one dealer and have it delivered to another for the same $995 but the dealers have to agree and most dont. So as Sno said, they will charge you on top of the $995 to make arrangments. Best bet is to fly in and drive it back...

My wife thought I was crazy when I mentioned doing this to get the deal Pat was offering.

And what better place to fly in and pick up a Jeep than the Rocky Mountains? Make a vacation of it and you won't regret it. Depending on engine choice, you might be able to catch some late season skiing/boarding.

You guys are making a very convincing argument for a trip to the Rockies. I've never been but that seems a bit much for just a few hundred dollars. it's only 24 hours door to door.

If you can afford the time off and can do it, why not? I tried convincing my wife about going to Illinois when I was thinking of going with Pat, but she wasn't too thrilled with me putting over 2,000 miles on her new vehicle immediately after purchase.

Hell, if any of you are serious about flying in to get the vehicle, I'll even pick you up from DIA, work schedule permitting (I'm a poor, overworked public defender). It'll be awhile before I get mine, so I'll live vicariously through you.

My 6 year old and 3 year old, while great, well-behaved kids, would not do well on a 24 hour drive. My son gets car sick, so he has to just sit there staring out the window... Poor kid.

Hmmm .... Flight from Phoenix to Colorado Springs is $108 on United (I couldn't believe it was so low) and an 11 hour ride back here. Not bad, especially since the ride back would be through Santa Fe NM.

James, thanks so much again for setting all this up. I'm also talking with Jack and so far he seems super-nice and easygoing. I'm probably going to figure out an excuse to go visit the Springs in the next week or two just to check out Faricy and do introductions with Jack.

Of course, if they had a '14 on the lot at the same time, that'd be ideal... but I can only wait so long!

Anybody checked out Dave Smith Motors yet? They beat every dealer in the Northwest by at least 1000 bucks.....

We have purchased several vehicles there. You guys might want to give them a call.....

You're welcome -- let me know if you do go down and how things go. I am waiting until 2014's show up on the lots, and then I'm going to plan a whole day down there test driving, figuring out colors, and placing my order

Little too far for us Denver guys to drive -- and I think we are basically at rock bottom in terms of pricing -- If I thought i could get a better price i would still be talking to dealers. I am confident we got the lowest price possible.
