Re: 18" Overland wheels

I also prefer the 18" wheels. There is no question about the better abilities of the 18" compared to the 20" when it comes to off roading. Also, you don't have many tire choices for 20" rims for off roading but you do for the 18s. Also keep in mind that some swap them out due to replacement cost for street tires. The tires for 18s are much cheaper to replace than the 20s. The ride is a bit softer on the 18s as well (but the cornering is looser).

There are many reasons to pick the 18s over the 20s which is why many do exactly that. Now looks are a different matter (although I like the 18s).

Re: 18" Overland wheels

Wow... I am suprised at how many people think those 18" wheels look better. I have to say I don't see it at all. I think they look cheap. I think the overland should just have a better looking wheel for that package. You pay extra to get the wheel/tire package that is standard on the Limited.

Re: 18" Overland wheels

I like the 18's and have more tire options than the 20's.

Re: 18" Overland wheels

I like the 18's better. I think it actually makes the GC stouter? and more compact? The 20's make the Jeep look lower and longer. And seems like 90% of the GC's here in Charlotte have the 20's

p.s. justifying my order of my GC with the 18's

There's no accounting for taste! Hell, some guys still think Brittany Spears is hot! As long as you like what you have, that's what counts.

Re: 18" Overland wheels

The 20" wheels are so incredibly boring. They are bland vanilla garbage and make it look like a cheap entry level vehicle IMO. The 18's are a bit more stylish to my eye. Neither are what I would put on the GC.

+1

the standard 20s have that dated, Transformer machine-like look, imo.
But, it's all personal taste.

Re: 18" Overland wheels

Hello all. New to the forum and it was a big help when we decided to purchase a GC. My wife and I just purchased a 2013 Overland with the ORII package. In addition to the off road capabilities, there are a lot more tire choices and much better pricing when it comes time to replace the factory tires. Not so with the 20s.

I think the 20" wheels look equally cheap. And are ill suited for anything but Walmart parking lots.

Konig has some kewl aftermarkets when the local DT gets in their fall stock.
