1st time poster... Questions about SUV width and garage.

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting here!
I'm currently looking at the 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited and am concerned about it fitting inside my garage.

My garage door is approximately 95" wide, and the total size of the two car garage is around 20' wide. I've read that that the grand Cherokee is about 76.5", but that's not factoring mirrors. I'm currently parking a 2004 Nissan maxima in the garage, and it's got a little bit of room on each side (the Nissan is 72.5" wide not factoring in mirrors). What's the width of the grand Cherokee factoring in the mirrors?

Any advice? I know the only way to know for sure is to try and park one in the garage, but that's not really possible unless I drive one off the lot.

Thank you for any help you can give me!

Got that info here: http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2menu.htm

Better question... Do the 2014 jgc limited have power folding side mirrors as a feature? If I could retract the mirrors electronically before I pull into the garage, that would be a godsend. Can anyone shed some light?

Sadly, No it does not.

Re: 1st time poster... Questions about SUV width and garage.

Am I reading that right that your garage door is only 95" wide? That is like just under 8 feet. Is it a single car opening into a double car garage? I'm a bit confused.

I have what I like to think is a pretty standard size two car garage and I am able to fit my WK2 and a Honda CR-V in comfortably.

Re: 1st time poster... Questions about SUV width and garage.

It's a 2 car garage with two individual garage doors that are 95" wide.

I'm an idiot lol, that makes perfect sense. You should be fine with a 95" door - the place I had before my place now had a single car garage and it was fine. Had about 5-6 inches of clearance on either side with the mirrors out.

Re: 1st time poster... Questions about SUV width and garage.

Would a dealer let me test drive one home to see if it fits? It really seems like this will be a game of inches lol.

If the dealer is within a reasonable distance from your house I don't see how it would be a problem. When I was buying my 2010 Ram 1500 Laramie brand new the dealer was going to let me take it for an overnight test drive.

I am sure there are plenty of other customers who are want to make sure a vehicle they are about to purchase will fit in their garage. Could always call and ask before you make the trip in.

Re: 1st time poster... Questions about SUV width and garage.

The 95" is typical for an 8' garage door. You lose an inch to the trim. The Grand Cherokee fits with room to spare, without folding the mirrors.
