First time poster!

I am considering either the 2012 Overland or 2012 Overland Summit and the deciding factor has come down to the dash. I love the saddle dash but I wonder if anyone is having problems with the summit dash cracking or being otherwise hard to maintain. Thanks in advance!

I just bought a Summit earlier this month. I'm thrilled with my decision. I wasn't a fan of the saddle at first, but it looks so very rich and sophisticated. From other posts I've read, the saddle is easier to keep clean. It doesn't show the dust and debris like the black leather can. Also, heat is more readily absorbed by darker materials. All things being equal, the black leather would have a stronger propensity to crack over the saddle. Chrysler has gone to great lengths to treat the leather for heat resistance. It also should retain its moisture quite well, although a GENTLE leather treatment once a year would be fine. I'll ask my dealer that they recommend. It should be something that helps retain its pliability AND keep the matte finish of the leather.
