Soti, you're definitely in the minority with your opinion of the new jeep. Everywhere I go it turns heads, people stop me and say "that jeep is fresh" or something along those lines. Haters turn their heads the other way. You get the point I think.

Anyway, if you hate the jeep why are you on here posting?

To post how much you hate something adds nothing to this forum and is a waste of your bandwidth.

On a side note, a guy at the gym tonight who pulled up in a q7 Audi said that he wished he had bought a jeep like my overland. That's real. I used to love the q7's until I saw the new jeep. The new jeep is hot homie. Don't be a hater, cuz that's what you sound like when post how much you hate something.

Let me guess, you'd rather have a bag phone than an iPhone, youd rather have a crisp new 50 than a million bucks and you're a big fan of the new chevy volt. It's cool, to each his own. Enjoy the 50 and the bag phone.

I am the proud owner of a 1998 Daewoo Nubira 1.5L gas sipper. I live in Korea and spend time in Thailand. In Thailand, any Jeep, even a few years old, costs more than a house. No joke(It's tought to find even an early WJ for less than $20KUSD). In Korea, it costs about $5-6K USD to register, and gas is sitting at a pert $8 USD/gallon and rising fast, so neither place leaves me able to drive a Jeep currently. I do come from a Jeep family. My sister drives a 2004 WJ, My father has a Commander Limited, and maybe a dozen or more Cherokees and Wranglers in my extended family back in MI. Once I return to the states, I have a Jeep in mind(among other vehicles). Just not the WK2.

That might be true. I usually am. I guess you can say I am definitely from the camp of "boxy is better" when it comes to Jeep vehicles. I also never said it wasn't popular. I know(and lament) that it is.

I don't hate all Jeeps. In fact, I really like almost everything Jeep has ever offered save for the Compass and now the WK2. I've been here since the beginning. Long before you. I waited with anticipation for the release of the WK2 and was very disappointed. If that makes me a "hater" then so be it. I don't like that truck, and I have every right not to.

Now you're just being confrontational. An iPhone is not that big of a deal to me, but of course I'd take one. You won't ever catch me standing in line for something like that, but yeah, they are cool. The Volt is nothing that would ever appeal to me.

I'd have to list in order:

1. XJ Cherokee/Commander tie
3. 4-door Wrangler
4. WJ
5. WK
6. ZJ
7. Any other model/year*

*WK2 and Compass are not considered. At all.

edited because I messed up the order in my list.

I forgot to add^

Dude, you're going to run into opposing views every once in a while. Even though this forum exists to bring together those of a like mind, we are individuals with different tastes. As much as I can't stand the WK2, I allow that you and others do. Until I get back and get into a Jeep of my own, I try to limit my posts to b.s.'ing with my friends in the "say anything" thread, but I can, and will exercise my right to post my feelings about something, until the powers that run this place stop me from doing so.

werd up Moe!
the WK2 is a gorgeous truck dont get me wrong. the newly designed interior have the same feel as my buddy's 65k X5, QL system, neat little features here and there (illuminated cup holders ) I just think the new design is just like most SUVs on the road today, if you lose the 7 slotted grill, will one know it's a Jeep?

Soti,

The hater comment comes from you being confrontational actually...

When you compare the jeep to a santa fe and call anyone who points out the stupidity of that statement a "band wagoner" that, to me, makes you sound like a hater. Just saying. That, to me sounds confrontational.
Just saying.

You are totally allowed to be a hater, I'm cool with it. I just thought you should know that I know you're a hater, or at least really really sound like one.

A Santa fe? Really? Good lord man.

My bad for coming off confrontational or over-zealously against such a popular vehicle. I'll try to modify my future discontent with a more obligatory and less condescending flavor, but...

In a thread with a title OBVIOUSLY asking for multiple and differing opinions, don't be surprised when you come across one that doesn't jibe with yours.

And yes, A Santa Fe. In a post above, someone else stated if you were to remove the signature 7 band grille, who would know it's a Jeep? I might be at the vanguard of Wk2 displeasure, but I'm obviously not alone.

I guess I deserve that! Because you are a half-way normal WK2 owner, I'll give you this one caveat. I've yet to drive one. I felt much the same way about the new Mustang, but since driving one, I've become a fan. Still not crazy about the looks, but the interior and performance won me over. I will reserve complete and final judgment about the WK2 until I drive it too. One should realize 100% of my comments have been about the new truck's looks.

Oh, no probs. No ethug here either. Everything I've said online I will back up in person. I also take responsibility for what I say and am the first to admit/apologize when I (often) stick my foot in my mouth!

When am I coming home? Shit son, you have an hour to sit there and listen? lol

Honestly, when Obama is gone and the American people stand up and take their country back. So... maybe never? lol

But really, I operate on 1 year contracts here. I wanted to come back when my current one ends Dec. 20th, but the downturn ate my savings and I have to build that back up. On top of the money I want to return with to re-start my U.S. life, I need about $5K USD just to get my wife and son into the country. That will be taken care of with my contract bonuses and pension refund. So I am thinking if I can save a bit from this contract, buckle down and live like a pauper for another, I'd feel comfortable enough to come back Christmas 2012.

Unless I knew I could come back straight into a decent job(resume upon request-hint, hint-wink, wink to any potential company bigwigs!), then I'd come back this Xmas.
