You can't make the GC that much better.. of course they were going to add badges, trim and new colors.. if you don't like it, don't spend the extra money. Someone else will.

Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit Edition

I think its awesome. That reddish colored wood in the overland is ugly IMO.

I still like this the best....but inferno red

Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit Edition

I like it better than the saddle/black interior...the extra chrome would have to go...I like the brown exterior color though...brown is very much back, although I'd like this interior better with the green exterior. Any word on if you can get the offroad II with this package...I think those 20s are foul.

That interior is not classy at all. Disappointing.

Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit Edition

Interesting. Preferring the new two tone interior treatment, extra chrome bling, and upgraded wheels is a personal taste kind of thing.

One interesting thing I noted.

The MSRP of the Summit Edition is $45,995.
If you price out the Overland with special paint (the blackberry), add the adaptive cruise package, and the chrome Mopar group. you get a MSRP of $44,700.
Assuming the Mopar Group @ MSRP $995 including the Chrome Fog Lamp Bezels,Chrome Tubular Side Steps, and Front and Rear Door Entry Guards is about equivalent in price to the Chrome Grill upgrade with the Bezels than the difference in MSRP is $1295 more for the Summit for which you get:

A badge
Berber Carpet
Upgraded 20" Polished (not painted) wheels.

There is no mention of power train, but I am assuming it is the Pentastar. If by chance, it also came standard with the Hemi or as a no cost option than the $1295 upgrade cost with all the additions and distinct styling would make the Summit a very, very reasonable "deal".

No mention if options such as the new 730 Nav, Hemi, Off Road Package are available either.

Personally, I don't dislike the model specific "Rugged Brown" color, but don't like any of the color choices including the brown that leave the stark contrast between the lower front air dam and wheel well plastic, black, non body colored panels. The plastic trim blends in better with the black WK2.

I also like the two tone leather interior finish but would have preferred a burl wood darker than standard but lighter than the Summit.

All in all, still undecided over optioned Overland and Summit.

Ok...you buy the summit grand and I'll trade you my overland 20's for your summit 20's! Deal?

Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit Edition

It looks as bad as a Ford King Ranch and Dodge Ram Longhorn Edition. These will sell well in the south and close to the border.

Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit Edition

Color choice is so personal.....the saddle is not that bad but if I had a choice, I would compliment the saddle with dk brown carpet instead of black and keep the wood brown.
I like brown exteriors.

couldn't agree more. Black on brown just doesn't look that nice. I wouldn't wear black socks with brown shoes...why does that car have to?
