Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit Edition

What would a summit edition have over an Overland?

A lot of accessories that you would have to purchase from mopar, such as chrome or black tubular side step,or fog light bezel, mesh inserts etc, chrome or black 20 inch wheels, all based on your choice of preference, upon purchase.

It best have a front ELSD or they should call it tripod edition.

Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit Edition

Jeff if you go read the thread with the Jeep Engineers, they said the Jeep is better now then it would be with a front ELSD. It was extensively tested and it did better without the front ELSD with all of the electronics/bigger brakes etc.. As per the jeep engineer discussion we had earlier so it doesn't look like a front ELSD is in the works. No Quadra Drive II for the V6 either, thats been confirmed.

Yea I read that thread.... translation... "yes we know an LSD would be much better but for christ sake we are trying to get better gas mileage out of this heavy underpowered pig! We apologize to all those customers that purchased QD2 only to find out its no better in the snow than a WJ QT. But hey it will be plenty good for all the soccer moms and office dinks that never go offroad."

What's more important, the spec sheet or the results? If it will handle it (and the engineers have been taking it out there, you've only been reading threads about it), does it really matter if it uses a front ELSD, brake applications, or little flying fairies to get the job done?
