You can literally shop anywhere in the country with that TL code (depending on how far you're willing to go-- several of us bought out of state when we found our desired vehicle on someone else's lot). There should not be any negotiating to speak of, except with all the other things they will try to sell you. Those are up to you.

On that note, many members here are planning on extended warranty coverage since this is a new model. There are deals for that also and plenty of discussion on it here on the forum (simple search to find some good threads).
But there IS a $75.00 administration fee at time of purchase, correct?

edit.. sorry I thought you meant the $25 TL registration fee. As Milous said, any additional fees are being added on by your dealer not the factory. I tried to get the dealership to wave teh $780 destination fee but had no luck. My argument was that since it was already on the lot, they should pay it, not me.... It didnt take

Any of the nonsense administration/advertising etc. "fees" that are added are strictly coming from the dealer and not the factory.

You should look for ways to qualify for FFP through groups that have affiliate programs with Chrysler. One that is popular among this group is www.treadlightly.org. You join TL.org for $25 and after 30 days as a member you qualify for FFP. Once a TL member you can generate a "control number" online which you take along with your membership letter to a dealer when buying off the lot or placing a factory order. All of them are supposed to honor it but in practice some will resist; depends on the individual market forces. Chrysler charges a $75 fee on vehicles ordered under this program but there are supposed to be no other dealer fees. Again, this varies and dealers will invariably try to add junk fees if you are not vigilant. Still, it's a pretty nice discount, and it can be combined with any other incentives that Chrysler offers.

I think you will find the members here will fall over themselves to assist you should you have any other questions.
This is what I was referring to.

hmm I was not charged any $75 administration fee. While I did not use the TL discount I did use another Affiliate pricing program, so not sure if it is specific to TL.

Good point and something that should be noted emphatically if they try to tack things on!

As I mentioned elsewhere, I chose to cut some slack to my dealer with one minor junk fee. I made sure he knew that I knew it was on there, but allowed it since he had proactively offered to drive 40 miles to pick me up himself. Fair is fair and everyone was smiling as we parted ways.

Affirmative. There is *supposed* to be a $75 fee that goes to ChryCo under the TL affiliate program. It's unclear if the dealers are consistent in collecting it.

My dealer let me order it right away even though I was a member of Tread Lightly for less than a week. All he cared about was the control number...supposedly you're supposed to have the membership letter too but the dealer didn't care (perhaps because it was an order?). Nothing was ever mentioned about being a member for 30 days... I'd just order now.

The $75 fee is charged by Chrysler to process the affiliate deal....applies to all control number purchases as far as I know.

- See photos and description by simply googling 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. The grille insert is stainless or chrome (unique on Summit) instead of black like on the Overland. The additional chrome is just the fog light bezels AND the 20" wheels are POLISHED shiny instead of painted like on the Overland.

The chrome group includes the fog light bezels but not the grille insert....and it includes also more chrome such as Chrome Tubular Side Steps and Front and Rear Door Entry Guards (neither of which I like).

Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit Edition

has anyone actually seen the seats on the summit? i just noticed some "extra" stitching that seems questionable...
