Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee WK2 Reviews

Mercedes is now trumpeting that its line gets the highest marks of any manufacturer from women-drivers.com. Just for the heck of it I checked there, and over the past two years they haven't tested a single Jeep GC.

You gotta wonder whether Chrysler is missing an opportunity here by not providing a loaner, or whether they've decided Jeeps will never appeal to women (my wife emphatically excepted), so why bother?

SF Chronicle review is so pointless. It just reads like a spec sheet. It doesn't even seem they drove the car.

And, what sensible woman wouldn't want to be behind the wheel of a Benz...guys too!!! Not sure how many women want the Jeep for the weekend so they can go off-road with the girls!

You HAVE to check this one out. A little background -- The Truth About Cars is a very critical car website -- they are up front about their biases, and are real driving enthusiasts. I've never seen them give an SUV a review as glowing as this one is.

I don't pay much attention to R&T & Co reviews -- they're cotton candy pieces. But I waited for TTAC to review it before I made up my mind to definitely buy one!

Road & Track, Car & Driver, etc. Which ever car company buys the most advertising gets to win all the comparisons.

That review has been around since Obama was popular.

I didn't see it on the list at the top, though. So I threw it in

I didn't add it back when because it was one of so many done around the time of the WK2 intro. The hook then was invariably the Great Jeep Revival, and loaners tested were propros or very early production. Okay for an initial peek, but not much more.

But you're right, it should be included on the "to see" list so the roster is complete. A big one to look for in the near future is the Consumer Reports initial test report, with lots of potentially useful performance measurements. Hopefully they post this onto their online blog and don't make everybody wait to read the results in their annual auto issue.

Granted, in the past CR may as well have titled their auto reviews, "Motorcars for Mennonites." But as they've been adding younger staffers, their juices finally seem to be stirring.

Added. Hmm, I thought that was added in July. Oh well, it's done, now.
