Re: 2011 Overland - what color?

Does anyone know if the Mineral Gray Metallic the jeep is going to come in is the same Mineral Gray Dodge Ram Trucks are painted? I looked at a Dodge Ram truck today at one of the local Chrysler dealers that was painted Mineral Gray metallic and I can tell you that it does not look like the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the TV ad. The one in the forest or the one going through the water. Not even close. It is a much darker gray!

Yes it is going to be the same Mineral Gray Metallic that Chrysler has used on previous Dodge and Jeep vehicles. I have seen it in person also and to me it looks exactly the same as in the commercial. However remember it is a metallic paint so lighting will alter the shade but to say it is not even close I have to disagree.

Can't wait for that grille insert to hit the market.. Like the look a lottttt

Thanks for the input! I compared a photo I took of the dodge ram truck in mineral gray to the you tube video of the jeep setting in what looks like deep woods, and to me it looks like a much lighter gray than the ram truck I made the photo of. You are correct about lighting having a big effect I know. I am thinking about ordering the Bright Silver Metallic as the Mineral gray may be just too dark for me, and you can actually order the silver now.

Look around in this site for robpp he has a WK in Mineral Gray Metallic that is absolutely sick. Granted it is modded to perfection but it will still give you an idea of the color. Its definitely one of the sickest Jeeps I have ever seen.

"sick" meaning good? or "sick" meaning just awful?

Re: 2011 Overland - what color?

This is my first post after the welcome thread.

Anyway, I plan to order Overland Hemi around this December. I think I will order Bright Silver yet I want to check one in Mineral Grey which some of you guys debated over. I think Mineral Grey is darn beautiful.

Yes, it's difficult to tell as if the Mineral Grey is as bright as shown in that video with the redwood forest though I believe it might be quite darker sighted in person, actually.

Like I checked the Saddle interior color in a 2011 Mustang which is actually bit darker in person than those in the pictures online seen. So some certain pictures could fool anyone considerably.

I still think I'm mere to buying one in Bright Silver which I already seen one in person - still beautiful and preferable color for me because it reduces heat absorption rather better since I live in the sunny state.

Unless if the Mineral Grey is as almost bright as that in the video we have seen therefore I might order one in Mineral Grey instead. Looks like it's the only way I need to see one in person before ordering. Wait I must - ah! lol

Wish you all the best in deciding the colors for your own ahead.

Re: 2011 Overland - what color?

I just saw a WK in what I assume to be Mineral Gray, and it was disappointing to me, being much flatter in appearance than what the auto show vehicle looked to be in the pics and the ad. Just a medium gray tone with not much sparkle...hopefully this isn't the color that will surface on the WK2, or I may be going with an alternate.
