ugh, decisions, decisions! Needing to order an Overland ASAP but having a tough time deciding on an exterior color. Leaning towards the White Gold, but since we can't actually see the color on a real life car, it's tough to know exactly what it looks like. I'm leary that the "gold" might be too yellowish and glaring. But there is no way to really know. We've looked at every picture we can and the color doesn't seem to be constant through out all the pics. Some are just fine (pale gold) while other pics are brightish, more of a yellow/green gold. Second choices are the Black and maybe the silver. Definitely want the lighter color leather interior.
Bebe,
That is correct the White Gold color for the JGC is the same as the color used on Chrysler mini vans. I ended up ordering an Overland in the Blackberry Pearl. I really wanted the Saddle interior but, didn't want to wait till this fall.
We went with Blackberry Pearl. I didn't want black or white, and the gray and silver just didn't seem to do the vehicle justice. The White Gold might have been nice, but I tend to prefer blues and greens, and the Natural Green wasn't available to order yet. I didn't mind the red, but my wife didn't like it much.
Bebe, have you seen or received from a dealer the colorful Grand Cherokee Booklet? Maybe 20-30 pages thick of details and pictures, supposedly $20 bucks but I got mine for free.. Theres a huge blown up picture of the saddle interior and you are correct, aside from the seats and the armrests on the door panels the rest is black, not including the wood trim... I opted for the beige interior since I have seen it in person on a limited and prefer it worlds over black, black interior is a pain to keep clean you see every spec.. Exterior I went with black though
yes, our dealer/sales agent did give us one of those high dollar brochures !!
mighty nice of him huh! We also bought a '08 Wrangler from him, so he knows we will most likely buy the GC. Bet they don't give those to every person walking in.
The black ext. was one of my 1st choices, but being in Texas the black is so dang hot. We were also looking at a Tahoe - while I love it in black, that thing would be a pain to keep spotless!
I was looking at Tahoes right before I saw this GC hit, and even though I like the Tahoes, I think for the money you get more in the GC then the Tahoe, I also like the fit/finish interior over the Tahoe anyday, at least Overland style.
I had looked into the Tahoe too but the one thing I don't like is that the second row of seats doesn't fold flat (or fold at all, really). That was one thing that I couldn't stand about the WK - seats don't really fold flat...they are much better in the WK2.
thanks! see the white gold looks ok on that pic. But on the Chrysler site some of their White Gold exteriors are real gold and garish. The exterior in the picture above looks nice. I wonder how much we could trust that picture to be a real true representation?
At this point, how old is the Tahoe platform? Has it evolved much over the decades??? GM always had better looking interiors than Chrysler, but the WK2 has changed my mind on this detail.
Whtie gold with the saddle interior could be quite interesting, and I'm waiting for the Mineral Gray to see how it appears with the saddle. I'd go for the light frost, but I'd prefer the "cream beige" appearance as it looks in the WK2Jeeps website pictures over the gray that it is in real life. I'm getting out of a gray with gray vehicle now.
For what its worth, spoke with Jeep Cust Service today and Mineral Gray should be avail for order sometime mid Aug and they are saying delivery by Oct.
I went Inferno Red with black interior for my Overland order.
Silver was my second pick, but I would have picked Red or the mineral grey had it been available to order. I like the Mineral grey and saddle in the ads...
As do I, but want to wait to see what the color truly is, and how it looks with the saddle interior. So far, no one even has the proper samples to show how this combination could look, and monitor pics can't be trusted.
I think the saddle/black interior with the Inferno red would be sick. But I would probably order the all black Overland and then paint the ugly ass wood Inferno red to match the exterior...THAT would be even SICKER......LOLOLOL
