Hey all...happy Easter...

Something weird on my 2011...the rear chrome trim has come loose, more on the drivers side but also on the passenger side. No dents or anything in the hatch, very strange. it does not press back in or pop back in...its just popped out like this randomly sometime between today and the last time it was washed.

I know some of you have removed the rear trim to paint it, etc. Any tips on how its attached so I can pop this back in? Pics attached...

Just what I needed, thanks!

How weird that it came loose though...

What happened in your situation, had the bolts just come loose?

just pull the chrome the rest of the way off and replace the 3m tape on the back side....youll see what I mean. No need to replace it or completely remove it.
Its not the chrome, its the whole assembly, including the black plastic underneath that houses the license plate lights/liftgate button...

Seeing that this rear hatch design came out on the Jeep in 2010, and the Highlander in 2014...I'd say the Highlander is like the Jeep, not the other way around.
