I hope that isn't the case since I have a 2012 Overland on order.

And all of these reasons are why I'm canceling my stuck-in-D1 status 2012 order and picking up my new 2011 tonight with $2k in savings.

Re: 2011 vs. 2012 = 2011 is Winner

All i can go buy is that email i posted from jeep that clearly stated that ELSD comes via the ORAGII for the overland or part of the summit package (assuming you get the v8). I do remember seeing ELSD as part of the options pkg under ORAGII on the dealers screen when we built up the car last week. But who knows.

Has anyone received a 2012 v8 summit or a overland with ORAGII yet? That could help clarify. I also sent an email to wk2jeeps to see if they could confirm, update their website.

Re: 2011 vs. 2012 = 2011 is Winner

I'm now starting to think more about canceling my 2012 order and just getting a leftover 2011 Overland. Does the ELSD really make a big difference in the regular world with different normal driving environment not just off-road? Dry, wet, snow, etc???

Re: 2011 vs. 2012 = 2011 is Winner

Try to find a 2011 Overland without a 730N RHR, its basically a required $465 option. Also, I see some of the newer overlands have the same destination charge (825). That brings the 2011 price to $43585 and the 2012 price is $43820. An MSRP price difference of $235.

Most of what you are talking about relates to the V8. The ORAGII package is the same price on the 2011 V6 and the 2012 V6. Does the 2011 V6 have Rear ELSD?

Yes there was a $385 price increase on builds starting May 2nd after for 2011s. At the same time, the destination cost increased $45. You need to find a 2011 pre 5/2 build and get the updates applied (applicable TSBs) and believe they are out there. There are also some out there (not a ton though but I have come across at least a dozen or so in my searches) with the RHB and not the RHR if that's what you want. I'm not sure about whether the V6 has the ELSD but I would imagine you have to get the ORAG pacakges to get it but someone will have to confirm that since we have already confirmed it on the V8s.

ELSD is optional and is packaged with the ORAII Group. It is only Standard on the SRT8 models.

Clarification: ELSD is Standard on the 5.7L Overland Summit 4x4 package.

And now it's official. Thanks for weighing in Milous...this has been quite the debate.

Re: 2011 vs. 2012 = 2011 is Winner

So the question is having the new 65RFE (same tranny) with the new torque converter better to have over the ELSD in the 2011? Now I have some decisions to make today.

I found an old thread and someone who has both a new 2011 Overland and a 2011 Limited said the Limited with the 20" tires was superior to their Overland that had 18" tires. Not a fair comparison since the 18" tires are not good, but he did say the Limited was outstanding in snow, so it would be the same as a 2012 Overland with 20" wheels.

Were you trying to put this in that Overland vs. Limited ride thread?
