Re: 2011 vs. 2012

I recall Milous made reference to minor changes to the 2012 model. LEDs for rear lights, maybe LED driving lights. One thing you can count on, Chrysler will increase the pricing on the 2012 models. The 2011 was a heck of a leap for Jeep/Chrysler, reception and sales figures far exceeding their internal forecast. Bottom line, Chrysler underpriced the 2011, especially the Overland packaged with the ACC Pkg. I doubt you will see deep discounting or otherwise towards end of 2011 model year. Chrysler was forced to do that in the past, based on numerous factors. Not the case with the 2011. Of course, this is IMO, with some input from realiable inside sources. Take it for what's it's worth.

But on the other hand, when you go to sell it down a few years down the line, a 2012 will be worth slightly more than a 2011.

He posted additional info the other day that the LED tail lights might just be on the SRT8. Not sure yet.

True dat. So it follows that a key question is how long you plan to own the vehicle? If you are going to turn it in 3-4 yrs, there will a noticeable difference in the value of a 2012 vs a 2011. If you are thinking like 7 or more years, the difference would not be worth the wait now.

Re: 2011 vs. 2012

I recall Milous referencing the fact the 8-speed is not on the foreseeable horizon for the WK2. I may have missed an update along the way. That said, you are better off paying the 2011 price points than the 2012 increase. I recall hearing the projected re-sale values for 2011 3, 4 , 5 years down the road will be quite good, relative to what we have seen in the past model years.

Re: 2011 vs. 2012

Dealers have a ton of Laredo's in stock -- I'm not sure I believe a price increase is in store. Maybe on the Overlands because it is priced so close to the Limited and those are selling well. Still, I'm being offered below invoice on all models. I would imagine we'll see rebates pretty soon. If it's on anything besides the Laredo's, I would say that would be a good indicator as to whether or not the price will bump for 2012. Chrysler wouldnt discount a model just to raise the price the next model year (with no design changes).

Re: 2011 vs. 2012

^^^ There are quite a few Laredo's out there but from what I have seen they are basic...no options ... not what a lot of people want except maybe if you're looking for a cheap lease. Down here in Florida the ones on the lot are 4x2's without options..don't know how fast they are selling or if are the same ones month after month. I was almost thinking that if there are shortages of some of the options that perhaps that is all Jeep can produce right now in excess of demand. The well equipped GC's seem to be either sold orders or sold quickly once they hit the lot and without incentives.
