OK...but that isn't much different...

MSRP $39,425 x 3% = $1183

Invoice of $37,710 less $1183 = $36,527

Less $1000 rebate = $35,527

Looks like the offer is still $1000 under calculated dealer cost to me...which is great IMHO. Wish I could have been able to get that.

Not sure I understand this...we pay the destination charge to the dealer as part of the cost, but isn't that then paid by the dealer?

We don't know what other incentives he had so we can't say for sure it was under deal cost. No dealer will ever sell at a loss UNLESS it's at the end of the month and it will allow him to hit a volume incentive worth thousands of dollars. I'm not saying it isn't a good deal but to properly assess it, we need to know what incentives other than the $1000 the guy was eligible for (what regional incentives, military, conquest rebate, targeted bonus cash, etc.).

As for the destination charge, what I was saying is that the cost is passed on to the consumer.

Re: 2011 WK2 Prices Paid

New to the Jeep world… thanks for all of the great content on this site.

Just purchased the WK2 Limited 4x4, Bright Silver, 5.7L V8, 730n, 20 inch wheels, Tow Group IV

Used Chrysler Affiliates Program for 1% below invoice.
MSRP - $43,745
Invoice - $41,110
Preferred Pricing - $40,774 (1% off Invoice + $75 fee)
--- Got 0% for 60 months through Ally and I got a $1,000 rebate.
Final price was $39,774 ($3,971 off MSRP)

I am sure I could have received a better deal, but getting the 0% and the $1,000 rebate together when 2 dealers told me they couldn’t combine the two made me feel like it was a pretty good deal.

Re: 2011 WK2 Prices Paid

Mineral Gray, Overland Summit 4x4 with 25R Package and Chrome Edition Group, built 6/11

MSRP $50,195
Invoice $46,226
Sale Price $43,226
14% below MSRP
6.5% below Invoice

Then have to add State Tax and Title of $1,387 - this was 3% of Invoice Price

Used USAA buying service. Noticed that USAA Invoice Price was $46,226 while Edmunds Invoice Price was $46,897. Dealer used USAA Invoice Price without me saying anything. He just said we will sell it to you $3,000 below the USAA Invoice Price - $2,000 USAA and $1,000 Jeep/Chrysler.

2012 Price to be Paid

I always check the Costco Auto Program http://www.costcoauto.com/enterzipcode.aspx?gotourl=%2fdefault.aspx and the American Express Auto Purchasing Program http://amexnetwork.zag.com/main.html before heading to a car dealership. I also check for any manufacturer affiliate programs. I'm lucky enough that my wife works for an employer that's big enough to be included in just about every manufacturer affiliate program.

I had to order my 2012 Overland 4x4 with 5.7L V8 and Off-Road Adventure II Package. Including the Destination Charge of $825, the MSRP is $47,010 and the Invoice Price is $44,091. Chrysler's affiliate program price is 1% below invoice, which I think would be $43,658.34 (I don't think that they take 1% off of the Destination Charge). However, I had an offer to sell the car to me from a just-over-the-border out-of-state big-volume dealer for only $42,900, which my local dealer matched. In addition to taxes of $2,743.14, and registration and title fees of $180, the dealer charges a "Conveyance Fee" of $299. With any luck, Chrysler will begin offering rebates on the 2012s before I take delivery. If so and I'm eligible, I'll get them, too. Oh, and I had the dealer agree in the contract to sell me roof rack crossbars and heavy duty floormats at his cost.

Before I decided to order the exact car I wanted, the best offer that I had for a 2011 Overland 4x4 with the 5.7L V8 and Media Center 730N was $39,900, which included a $1,000 rebate. But that offer was only good on a car that was already in the dealer's inventory and not exactly what I wanted.

What do you think is reasonable to get them down too. I've got a strict budget of 35,500. Is that reasonable to get them down to that. Theres currently 2,000 in factory rebates if that helps at all.

Re: 2011 WK2 Prices Paid

twforrer - I assumed that you're talking about a 2011, found only $1,000 of incentives and used a Connecticut Zip Code (which could impact the amount of the Destination Fee), but here's the American Express Auto Purchasing Program pricing for that Jeep:

With an additional $1000 of incentives, the price would drop to $35,900. Would that be close enough for you?
