I apologize - my OTD price was $35,712, not $35,485. I didn't have my invoice available when I typed that up earlier and I thought it was $3700 off. I actually got $3473 off.
Since $1000 of that was loyalty cash and I was off by $227, that brings us close to invoice as far as the dealer is concerned. Then remember, if they sell a car at invoice they still make a chunk of cash due to holdbacks, which are typically about 3%.
I bought it at Rotolo's Dodge Chrysler Jeep. Their web site is no longer showing any dealer discounts on any of their new cars. A couple weeks ago every WK2 had at least $2k off MSRP. The costlier the MSRP, the more they'd knocked of.
But, "out the door" to most people means with tax, title, and other fees, not the agreed sales price. Yes, we're at 6% for sales, while other states have none to much more, and yes, your trade brings the amount of the sale down for tax purposes. Your method of stating price is a better way to judge the deal as far as this Forum goes.
The price is invoice +500, but who's invoice exactly I don't know. Bottom line is I didn't pay MSRP or any stupid AMV (added market value). Easiest deal I ever made and had a great experience at the dealership. Anyone in the Tacoma area should ask for John R. at Puyallup Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep. Super nice guy!
It is a "certain designated individual" number. Google it, it will explain what it is used for. Basically I got my Overland for 37,300 plus $1,000 rebate for trading in my 2007 srt8. Final number was $36,300.... First one in Arizona as well. Dealer was not so happy.
Pretty sweet I looked it up it's EP pricing plus 200 processing fee and factory employees can issue one CDI number to try to get sales for the company I assume your go's dad works for Chrysler. I'm surprised Chrysler dealers are never offered these types of programs.
The MSRP for my GC Limited was ~$41,300. Dealer's additional markup put it around $51k!
I utilized the Costco auto-buying program which means they can't price it over $1500 over invoice, so, after haggling in a couple of extra's and getting more than I thought I would for my Liberty trade in, I think I did okay... Not as great a deal as some of you got, but I am fairly pleased. I have my first Grand Cherokee!
Ugliest first post I have read to date! Not for you, but for a dealer that would put $10k onto a Jeep that will need large incentives to move out inventory at the end of next summer! Some dealers never learn, and wish you had walked from them if something else was available to you.
Yeah pretty unbelievable eh? I was a bit shocked myself at that sort of outrageous markup. But an older dude that came in right before me shelled out that amount for a similarily equipped GC without even really asking any questions... I guess if money is no object and you want it bad enough.......
