Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee - MSRP Pricing

Has anyone had any luck with purchasing 2011 JGC Overland at or below MSRP? I was told by sales manager at undisclosed dealer that they will not sell them for anything less than 2K over MSRP due to overwhelming demand. I seriously doubt that is the case.

This is type of dealer that you should always avoid and NEVER do business with. If they are happy to gouge their customers on the initial sale you can bet that they are going to bend you over every chance they get - for parts, accessories, repair work, etc.

Shop around, you should EASILY be able to order up a 2012 Overland for a price that is well below MSRP.

Since we all know the $75K is not going to be the final number this comment is tongue in cheek BUT,

@ $75K they won't sell a single vehicle. No one in their right mind pay a $30,000 premium for what amounts to a 6.4L engine upgrade.

Overlands can be had for one thousand under invoice now and I cant see that changing any in the future with the 2012.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee - MSRP Pricing

A very quick and crude comparison if I may...

75K SRT JGC - plus any options. 465/465 hp/lbs -
78K BMW X5 5.0i - I included all options if nec to compare to a loaded JGC SRT. With the optional sport package included in my price - 440/440 hp/lbs. (along with a proper trans with correct amount of gears, and twin scroll turbo's = instant acceleration.)

IMHO - @ this price point....Jeep would lose terribly against this market with the SRT in current form. Beyond fit/finish and other odd/ends, handling and performance would be demolished by the competition.

The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is going to have a base price in the $4x,000 range. First post has been edited. Milous was messing with everyone. He did the same when he posted that it would have like 5 mpg a while back and then corrected it later to 12/18 mpg.

Also, I think you're giving BMW too much credit.

Coming from the X5, a WK before, and now a WK2...I think (my opinion) I'm giving the BMW the right credit....but to each his own. Plus, an important point here are the price points. Jeep would not survive at that price for what is out there in that class. For its current pricing, the WK2 is an awesome vehicle.

Any idea on how much the HEMI upgrade is? Still $1500?
