On the "5 MPG" post, I WAS indeed "messing with everyone"...

But, on the "75k" post, I was NOT. See the image in post #20 of this thread. That image was NOT altered or p-shopped, that is exactly what Jeep initially released - best guess being that it was just a placeholder number as the document was withdrawn a day or so later.

Oh not a problem at all, I didn't take it as a negative, just thought I should let everyone know, otherwise they may start to not trust my info lol.

Milous, any further thoughts on when final official 2012 pricing will be available? Still mid-July?

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee - MSRP Pricing

Oh that hurts. Glad I went with the Overland. Not sure if I would feel good about spending $55,295 plus options. That would push this thing well over $60k. $45-46k plus options should have been the right price for this SRT8.

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee - MSRP Pricing

I think they screwed the pooch on this one...Dealers will get greedy on their first orders, wanting list or over and they will sit. While it is a different "ride", it is really hard to justify at least a $9k premium over a Hemi Summit.. Real world- assuming list transaction price on the SRT and an invoice transaction price on the Summit...

This is well over what we saw earlier here via Milous, no? I recall fully loaded was circa $50K, with base of $45K? What did I miss?

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee - MSRP Pricing

So I put in a factory order for a Laredo X last week.

With the X, it's required to order the "E Group". All sites such as Edmunds and whatnot list the E Group as $2000 MSRP, and $951 Invoice. This was also my dealers's pricing for it at the time I was making the deal with them last week, and factored into the bottom line we both agreed on. I do see that wk2jeeps lists the invoice as $1011, though.

Just got a call from the dealer and he says that the invoice price on the E Group for my order is showing as $1780. Nearly double. They claim to not know what's going on with the price change. They also don't seem to have any info on any MSRP change; they still think it's $2000 but they admit the $220 less on invoice doesn't make any sense.

They have an email in to Chrysler to try and get more info but it's probably going to take a few days.

Anybody here any any idea?

Re: 2012 Grand Cherokee - MSRP Pricing

We just purchased a new 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit V8 with off-road II package. We don't want 20" tires for off-road, so we are happy that the package has 18" tires. Jeep has many skid plates.
Found just the model and color at a dealer, so we did not have to order.

We talk to Sales Managers and everyone would give us a copy of the Factory Invoice. We like to deal up from invoice, not down from sticker. All would agree to sell the Grand at invoice and they would keep the "Hold Back". Factory invoice has a line item called HB with a dollar amount listed for that invoice.

Also purchased Chrysler Lifetime Max Care $100 deductible for $2000.

Also purchased 12 coupons that expire in 6 years for oil changes for $200 ($17 each if I use all 12. V8 takes 7 quarts and I don't want any lifetime warranty hassles if an engine blows, so this Jeep will see a dealer every 6 months.

We tow it behind our motorhome, so we had to install baseplate for hitch connections. Found a new neat product called Tow Daddy that allows us to power rear lights from motorhome without cutting any OEM wires. We also added a tow brake that pushes Jeep brake pedal when motorhome stops, to be legal and improve panic stopping distance.

The correct dealer cost on the "E" Group is $951 (originally $1011). The $2000 MSRP has never changed.

Did they end up soaking you for $1780?
