Re: 2012 vs 2014 WK2

I love it. I wanted the diesel at first, but my wife couldn't wait that long for it to come out and we needed this vehicle before the arrival of our second child. Test drove both the V6 and V8 in the 2013 model and while the V6 had enough power for the vehicle to get around, the V8 was much more fun.

Re: 2012 vs 2014 WK2

Did you notice any difference in the audio system with the new jeep? Does it sound better or Is it better or is it just the screen that's better?

I think the speaker quality is the same but the head unit appears to put out cleaner sound. There is also a surround sound option on the equalizer which was not an option on the 2012. I now listen to it in surround sound all the time.

The sound is better but nothing that will blow your mind. Bluetooth streaming is also much cleaner and has none of the issued i had with my 2012.

Re: 2012 vs 2014 WK2

I sat in one today (2014) but didn't start or drive it and the radio sounded pretty good. Seems to have more bass too... Do you think it has more bass or a better sub now? What's the deal there? Lol

I haven't heard the 19 Speaker HK system yet so I don't know of that's even better than this was but I do know I am NOT happy with my 2013 system! I just want to find out what else is better about the 14...

Re: 2012 vs 2014 WK2

The system in my previous 2012 Overland was ok. But the HK system in my 2014 Summit is quite good. I rate it above the premium sound option that was on my 2010 BMW M3 and even better than the Mark Levinson option that I had in a 2007 Lexus GX470.

Re: 2012 vs 2014 WK2

Everything about the 2014 stereo system is better than the 2012. More bass, more separation, better clarity. HD radio makes a huge difference as well. It's just a better system overall. That being said, it still has its shortcomings, but most factory systems do. I may tweak a few things on mine here and there big at least I feel like I have a good foundation to start with this time.

Going from xenon to no xenon must be harsh and I'd bet your biggest gripe.

Oh, by the way, billet silver is AMAZING in person. Pictures don't do that color any justice.

Honestly, it's the only thing I miss. It's not an easy change but luckily I don't do a lot of night driving. The difference is dramatic though.

Agreed. I park next to a silver 2013 almost every day at work and the billet silver is so much nicer....a bit darker.

If you look at them in pictures they look exactly the same though.

I've had xenons on all my family cars for at least five years now. I can't believe our 14 Limited doesn't have them standard. It would be my biggest gripe, but that is reserved for the fact that it has been at the dealer half the time I have owned it.

Re: 2012 vs 2014 WK2

I'm really going to miss the flipper glass. I use it at least 5x/day. But I'm in a 2010 now which is a huge difference. I'll just have to deal with no flipper glass.
