2012 with 21K miles versus 2013 with 38k miles

I've been searching all over for a pre-owned grand cherokee. Two choices:

2012 Limited with 21K miles - V8
2013 Limited with 38K miles - V8 plus luxury package (cooled seats, etc)

Similar prices and both max steel metallic (which my wife fell in love with)

I'd prefer the lower mileage one but my wife is hung up on the cooled seats/heated steering wheel. Thoughts?

I really prefer 2011-13 models and feel it may be hard to find one with all the options especially in max steel.

Thanks.

Go with the one your wife likes more. The cooled seats are worth it and youll get brownie points with the Mrs.

A heated steering wheel is pretty much the greatest thing, plus its still low miles and a year newer. I'd go with that one.

No question...what the "boss "likes. and honestly, the one model year newer with more features is a good thing, IMHO.

I would tend to agree with the others here - you'll like the heated steering wheel and cooled seats when you use them (but probably won't necessarily miss them if you've never experienced their glory)

Other point would be on the powertrain warranty - they should both be covered under 5yr/100k miles. Even though it has low miles, the 2012 will run out on time before the 2013 - depending on build date, it could already be out of warranty.

Seeing the topic I would have said go with the lower mileage 2012, but then reading the post you said the 2013 has the luxury package. I would go with the 2013! Those options are absolutely worth it. No real differences between 2012 and 2013 model years otherwise.

I'm curious what the 13 is selling for if you don't mind.

Go with the '13 then definitely. Not sure if you're thinking about getting a service contract but it looks the only one available via Zeigler is a 4 year added care contract for that year and mileage. That was a real quick look up though on my end without knowing all the particulars.

How many miles do you drive a year? If you don't drive that much go with the 13. You may be able to find a 14 Limited in your price range. Many improvements over the 13. Good luck!

I don't drive much at all. Commute to work via train so that saves a lot on miles.

I don't think I'd let mileage bother me much. Either one you buy will likely be yours forever. Just buy the one you and the Mrs like the most. It may be easier to sell a kid after you buy it anyway! Haha!
