Question Re: 2012 WK2 Prices Paid Master Thread

joecam - I am from NJ (Northern part) too and my experience with local dealers are not too well either. All of them would only willing to knock $2000-$2500 off the MSRP. Together with the $1000 incentive from Jeep you're only getting $3500 off MSRP at most! So I am curious which dealership you went to as you obviously struck a pretty good deal for your new wheel.

I was thinking the same thing but if he did then good for him. I just got through going over the whole thread and it looks like some of these posts are questionable. Some got really good deals but they are 1 time posts and they dissapear.

Re: 2012 WK2 Prices Paid Master Thread

From what I have researched, ~10% off MSRP is what I expect for my deal hopefully.

10-15% is a good deal in my opinion. Just have to be patient and firm with the dealer. If you dont have to have it right away let the dealer sit on it for a few days then call back. I guarantee if they hold it for a week you'll be able to get a few extra bucks out of the deal.

I think it is where your are at. I went to 3 dealers and only one would negotiate. One dealer had a markup 2k over MSRP and refused to talk about lowering it.

If dealers are having a hard time moving cars, they are willing to lose the dealer kickback to meet quota bonuses. The day I picked up my Jeep the sales person was moving 3 cars (on a Wednesday night!). So they were selling.

I was also willing to pay 1k more to build a relationship with the dealership in town, I will be getting all my services done there and the dealership was the best one to work with out of the 3.

Re: 2012 WK2 Prices Paid Master Thread

What I am seeing in reports is that 8-9% off MSRP including the $1k is about average. Am also seeing that Chrysler is doing very well in 2012 and the base price for a Laredo is now over $27k (includes Uconnect now which has gone up about 20%) and the destination charge increased another 12%. Would not be surprised to see a different pattern after the $1k expires on Wednesday.

There is also a postional value. That deal in OK may have been a fleet buy that went sour, rental companies like base models. Great deal if that is what you want.

Here in Florida, the tourists have money but do not buy cars. Natives are not very well off at the moment and tend to look at F*rds, not GCs.

All I really cared about was the towing group, but appreciate what came in the "E" package and Uconnect also. 4WD was just not important. The fact that there are three local dealers and were four near identical Laredos localy helped. With tax (6.5%), title, documentation, & $1k bonus I was out the door for about 5% under the November 2011 sticker & feel good about it.

Do expect to put another $1.5-$2k into factory parts to fill in a few bits like the side rails and maybe upgrade the 130 to a 430 without Nav (anyone done this to a 130 with Sat and Bluetooth) ?

Do not know how much longer prices will be where they are and have not seen anyone mention that a 48 month loan can be had for 3%. I'd be very surprised if that doesn't go away soon. This may be the best time of all to buy a new WK2 and a fond memory come summer.

This is a current JGC for sale - checkout the price! I bought my Overland with the following equipment:

ADG Ad. Cruise Control
XS3 Saddle/Black Interior

EZH Hemi

The cost: $41,676 including the freight. TTL is not included in this price.

Jeep GC Overland for sale with hemi etc...

I have to agree. We looked at getting a Cherokee last year but local dealers would not move plus the 4 dealers close to me just don't seem to keep alot of GC's on the lot. Couldn't get them to budge last year but last month when I bought mine they were eager to deal and were moving lots of cars.

Re: 2012 WK2 Prices Paid Master Thread

Hey Joker and tnjeep, I thought maybe I shouldn't post, because people would be pissded off that they paid more. However, if I can help some people and they get close that, great. I am a USAA member so that helped, but even without that it was still under $40k for the Overland 5.7, with ACC. Purchased from Manhattan Jeep and ask for Ivan. I have sent a few people there already and they got similar deals (without the USAA discount).

I understand you guys are probably kids, but you should think twice before questioning someone's ethics in a public forum.

I can tell you that I just got off the phone with the infamous Ivan from Manhattan Jeep and he agreed to match Joe's deal.
